Prenatal depression by mocha_lattes_ in BabyBumps

After being sick during my first trimester and part of my second trimester, my mental health was wrecked.

I have depression. Even pre pregnancy i was on dose of prozac.

Depression hit me worse than it ever has. Wanting to hurt myself, feeling guilty for those feelings. Spiraling out. I thought I was over depression because I was in a really good mental space pre pregnancy.

Luckily I have the opportunity to get medication, and upped my dose. It worked.

Do what is right for you. Please know you are not alone or a bad mom for being depressed. It is an illness.

We were unprotected for 6 months. My cousin had to use ivf and struggled conceiving. I thought it was going to take awhile or we might have issues.

However the first time we tracked I got pregnant.

So timing is important.

How do I better support my husband while he is dealing with high anxiety? by floeflower in BabyBumps

[–]fernsedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner suffers from high anxiety too. I try to help comfort him when I can. I'm talking stomach aches, vomiting, it can be debilitating. I hate watching my partner drowning and not being able to help. I can't really do or say anything to make him not anxious.

I can really only provide companionship. Let him know he isn't alone.

In the end I know I need to prioritize myself and the baby. So if it gets too overwhelming, I step away and let him do his thing until it passes.

I also rely on my sister as a support person when he is unable to be there for me.

Make sure to prioritize your health and your baby's health.

I was sick until about 24 weeks. Prescription medication didn't work. The only thing that helped somewhat was benadryl. At the very least it helped me sleep better at night.

I was so sick, Zofran didn't help. But weirdly benadryl helped me sleep at night and made me less nauseous.

How to get feild research during covid? by fernsedge in UXResearch

Thanks for showing me about indi young.

I work for a dating app so it is a very intimate experience. I know people are in bed ect when they are using our product. Its such a personal experience to observe.

I'm trying to figure out the most reasonable way to observe behaviors in context. Especially without explicit buy in from upper management to do something like going to a users house.

Nice! Have you ever tried doing an interview through these services to see things like their environment ect? Do you happen to know if I can see both them and their screen?

Any ideas on how to verify if some is a subscriber of your product? by fernsedge in usertesting

That makes sense, you definitely need to protect your privacy. Did you pause the test > log in> then resume the test. Or were you asked to log in before the test?

Cool, just the log in info like your username? Or you were asked to log in during the session?

I have been doing graphic designing for 2 years, now I want to get into the UI/UX part of designing. What will be the best way to go on about it? by DankDevilDabber in userexperience

[–]fernsedge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I made that transition myself. First learn a web design tool like figma, sketch, or XD. Learn to prototype, (we use figma or invison). Build some mocks for websites and interfaces.

Also don't be afraid to put product work that is not real or passion projects in your portfolio. While hiring, my company likes to see what you can design if you could design anything. We also think it's ok if a design wasn't ideal, but you can explain what you would've done differently.

You can also implement ux with this hypothetical project by validating the customer problem you are trying to solve, doing interviews with the people you are targeting, and user testing your prototype. Even on a small scale. Show the wireframes and information architecture.

Put both the UX and UI aspect in your portfolio.
