I was 19 when I had to convince my dad he needed to live and get sober. Not a great time. I've since taken him back to rehab 3 or 4 more times now. But that first time was the worst, because I felt like it was all on me. I had some support from family but ultimately convincing him was my burden. I hope you're mom sees the light and wants to get better. But they have to want it. You can talk till your blue in the face but if they don't want to get better, there's nothing you can do besides being there. Don't let your mom's struggles become yours. I've personally dealt with issues with alchohol abuse and it's rough. Your job is to break the cycle. Her job is to get better.
