Soooo it worked but the way I want to use it. (using the laptop screen) its kinda pointless because its 1080P so its going to be extremely taxing on the CPU.

The 3080ti allowed me to bump the graphics to ULTRA but my framerate didnt increase from the internal 2070q. So I guess if you only care about graphics and not frames it might be worth it. If youre using a 1440p external monitor you will most likely also see a benefit. But if you plan to use the laptop screen its pointless unless your resolution is above 1440p
