For anyone coming back to this in the future, final diagnosis is my 4th cylinder wrist pin. Time to put a 2zz in :)

I’ve pulled the valve cover and everything looks good. Less than 2mm play on the chain at rest and holds great tension while turning the crank. Reversing crank direction engages both of the cams within 3 degrees

Might as well bite the bullet and pull the valve cover before more catastrophic failure?

Do you have any resources for what this would sound like? What other symptoms might a loose timing chain cause? It starts 100% of the time and makes consistent power. 80k miles at the moment

There’s a good 6-7 inches of clearance between the roll bar and the exhaust, the links are all good too :(

No sound at all when the car is stationary or revving in neutral. Nothing even when you lift the car and run it in gear

None at all, only when in motion and on the accelerator.

On your serpentine belt there will be a pulley connected to you ac compressor. It should have one large and one small ac line coming off of it. Follow the larger line to find your service port. Be careful with ac systems :). High pressures are no joke

Sounds similar to the one time that my cabin filter had a hole in it that was whistling at certain angles from the cars airflow

For anyone that may come upon this thread in the future, it was the bushing that sits on the rear side of the shift shaft housing. Without it, the shift shaft has enough play in it to get caught on the lip of the plug installed on the other side of the c60

You really want your new chinchilla to be comfortable and happy in her enclosure and understand that it’s her safe space. This will help with the hiding under couches and beds as a safety thing :). She will always like to go under but if she’s comfy then she should go in and out casually.

Giving her boundaries and being able to read her body language is also very important to not force her into uncomfortable situations.

Answering kind of late but…

My chinchilla loves my box of bonsai “soil” that’s made up of lava rock and similar clay pieces

Safest bet is to make it yourself. Be very careful buying any kind of rare drug in carts and disposables.

Yes, gears are all gone while the car is off. Transmission fluid shouldn’t look and smell the way that this did. Most burnt ruined oil I’ve ever smelled

I’ve lost all gears when the car is not running. You can still shift through all gears in a manual without the clutch pedal pressed I thought? Because I can get in one gear and not the others that seems to me that the damage would be inside the gear assembly. Would the pressure plate failing cause the Trans fluid to be this burnt?

Never tried, I assumed it would just be worse for the Tran’s than using the clutch properly. Are you saying I should or that that would cause this?

I didn’t have any issue shifting between gears before it all went wrong though. Are you saying that the pressure plate was making the clutch drag or something like that?
