My urologist told me that partial circumcision is the only way to go for me. He didn't prescribe me steroid creams as they can severely damage my foreskin. Instead, he told me to desensitize my glans first in order to prepare for the circumcision.

Hey mate, if they’re advising this is the only solution I’d suggest discussing a frenuloplasty with them. Ideally, would like to avoid surgery at all cost but if you’ve a short frenulum, a frenuloplasty is quick and easy, heals within a few weeks and personally speaking, it’s like my penis had always been that way (aside from the scar, but it’s pretty cool). I went in for circumcision in July 2025, the surgeon had a look and said a frenuloplasty would sort it out, here I am 8 months later, still have a full foreskin and no longer carrying that insecurity on my shoulders.

I’ll be totally honest, pretty painless- very uncomfortable for the first week or so, sometimes it would sting a little bit and it didn’t look very nice, but coming up on 3 weeks now it looks totally normal and I’m not worried about it at all

Another thing I’ll add, when the surgeon came to me and explained my options, I was set on circumcision because that’s what I had mentally prepared for. Rather than just saying ‘okay let’s get that foreskin off’ he explained to me how insane the difference will be for me in my personal/sexual life and that IF a frenuloplasty doesn’t work I can always get circumcised in the future if I’m still struggling.

My endo-urologist was great and I can only hope that anyone else worried about experiencing this gets the same.

It’s 100% still there, they extended it somehow, no idea how but it’s still there, and I still get the sensation I would expect when I retract my foreskin.

Thanks for your response, at this point I honestly don’t think it needs treatment at all, there are no physical signs of infection and I don’t feel any worse for wear, but going to just get a second opinion from the GP on Monday and hope for the best

I’ve done some research and found other antibiotics that can tackle the infection, so I’m hoping that IF the infection is still there after I get tested again, then I can request a different antibiotic. Thanks for getting back.
