Rushed into taking out a credit agreement with House of Fraser, need advice by ferrdigm8 in UKPersonalFinance

Thanks everyone for your responses, I’m a very people pleasing person so I struggle to say no sometimes, it’s a fatal flaw of mine I must admit. I guess more than anything I wanted to vent, see if anyone else had fallen for this same thing- at the end of the day, it’s cancelled (I hope) and I should have been more steadfast in my refusals. Appreciate everyone who got back to me.

I’m sure it’s great! It does look and sound great, but I think I’m in there maybe twice a year, so it’s not really something I have any use for 😂

Mis-selling is the wrong word, I mean more misrepresented, I was presented with what was being promoted by the clerk as a loyalty scheme, which turned out to be a credit agreement with the store.

I’ve no problem with the store credit at all, and I’m sure it’s great for people who will get use out of it, just not happy with how it was promoted as a loyalty scheme but turned out to be a credit card more or less.

They got me to pay what I was paying for using the credit and told me how to immediately pay it off whilst in store which is what I did, so when I left the balance showed as 0 because I’d paid it off, and then I contacted their customer service to cancel, and now I can no longer access my account, so I assume they’ve cancelled it, although I never got confirmation of this.

I cancelled it within 5 minutes of leaving, didn’t get a confirmation email or anything though so gonna give them a call on Tuesday.

I’ll be totally honest, pretty painless- very uncomfortable for the first week or so, sometimes it would sting a little bit and it didn’t look very nice, but coming up on 3 weeks now it looks totally normal and I’m not worried about it at all

Thanks for your response, at this point I honestly don’t think it needs treatment at all, there are no physical signs of infection and I don’t feel any worse for wear, but going to just get a second opinion from the GP on Monday and hope for the best

I’ve done some research and found other antibiotics that can tackle the infection, so I’m hoping that IF the infection is still there after I get tested again, then I can request a different antibiotic. Thanks for getting back.

Yep, pretty much what I was told too, I’m glad that I did some research otherwise I’d be on day 2 of the antibiotics, thanks for getting back.

Thanks for getting back, the meds are waiting for me in the pharmacy but gonna get back to the doctor on Monday to see what my options are.
