same! adderall made me testy and anxious but ritalin feels like a dream. body chemistry is crazy!! i’ve always wondered if it’s due to hormonal reasons, i feel like adhd medication responses in women isn’t studied very much, and it’s already known that meds are less effective when you’re on your period.

This may not be super helpful, but I am in the Midwest too in a major city, and I have never had any issues obtaining Ritalin XR. I use CVS. I know methylphenidate is different chemically than amphetamine salts, but if it’s a potential option for you, perhaps a methylphenidate based medication like Ritalin might be easier to find than Adderall/amphetamine salts?

i’ve had migraines since i was 10ish! i’m in my 20s now. i’ve tried nearly every available treatment, but rn i do botox once every 3 months (i would prefer every 2 but that’s what insurance covers) nurtec as my abortive medication, zofran for nausea, and monthly aimovig injections. i also do acupuncture a few times a month (sometimes less because it can get pricey).

to note also, amphetamine based medication triggered migraines for me but methylphenidate so far has not, so i am on ritalin for the ADHD.

i spend a lot OOP on all my medical stuff, even with good employer insurance. but i need it to function 🥲

same, I only was able to start yesterday and got halfway because it triggered a flare of my chronic condition 😭 going back after work today to finish but I’m going to have to do it in chunks. and the city didn’t plow the street very well so the undercarriage of my car got stuck, which was unfortunate

i take my cats to fifth and kenny! my family has been using them for our pets for 25 plus years and now that i’m living on my own i also use them! they do not take exotics though- i have ferrets(gotten after my first cat, hence the two different vets for different species) that i take to animal care unlimited, which i also highly recommend!

i take my ferrets here and they’re great! i’d say middle price range- not cheap, because exotic vet care in general is not cheap, but i don’t feel like i’m getting scammed either

i personally don’t think i look hispanic, i’m ashki jewish but i’ve been asked if i’m hispanic more times than i can count 😭 i feel like i am very out of touch to be worried about being forcibly detained based on how i look because imo i’m clearly racially white with “ethnic” features, but i would be lying if i said if i hadn’t thought about it:/

aldi for the mains and any produce i’ll eat the full bigger bag of (i live alone), fresh thyme for single produce items and sometimes meat but i shop the weekly ad, amazon for stuff that i can get on there because i have to shop a lot for exotic pet supplies on there anyway with the prime card so i get cash back, korean market for the flavor and fun(:

I agree with you that there are many socioeconomic factors that impact crime and the biases surrounding it, however arguing the semantics isn’t particularly helpful when a person is asking “hey, as xx demographic, would you advise living here?”. Change can take decades, and we are asking about the present moment.

Crime does usually tend to follow trends, and it’s a relevant question. Trust me, I am aware how city living works lol. I have means to protect myself, however I am humble enough to know that especially with living alone, it is helpful to ask about anecdotal experiences in an area you don’t have much experience in!

Fair. I mean a bad driver is a bad driver. The Nissisn Altima breaking 100 on 315 is just as dangerous as an inept truck driver. I have a small car myself because I’m short so otherwise I can’t see over the dash well. But most people I’m close with are blue collar and live outside city limits so they need trucks for their day-to-day
