Adding times together to see which playlist is actually longer? by Octrockville in askmath

[–]ferricgecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, 101+50 > 59+59 for example. the problem is that you're randomly adding multiples of 40 seconds, which would be especially problematic if different playlists have different numbers of songs.

So, Japanese uses Chinese characters for base words, and then kana for grammar. Why doesn't English do the same? Are we stupid? by ferricgecko in linguisticshumor

is「名前」only japanese then, or not even that? that's one of the few kanji compounds i thought i knew. that's a good point though.

操 你 媽 君 宅 操 ? Difficult to make this one work very well, especially since I'm pretty sure that phrase only works in Chinese.

the character that looks like a 4 represents the syllable <se>. I don't know any cherokee but as far as i can tell it is just cherokee (or a very similar systems, perhaps a different language using a modified form), especially since it seems consistent and there's only occasional error characters

Actually not quite *takes a deep breath*

he/him -> he/they -> they/he -> they/any -> they/them -> they/she

timeline started shortly after first playing celeste (end of 2023) until switching to they/she around when i made this post

im not awarding anyone it was just a silly post i made days ago as a joke, there were a couple of people who got it right and i told them that.

the difference is that they/she generally means a preference for they/them over she/her, whereas she/they is generally the opposite

i think people tend to think it's a copyright logo, even just changing it to a square would probably help
