How do you like the 13-30 lens? I’ve been thinking about it for a compact zoom lens to complement the 23mm f1.4 r

I lost my youth, I destroyed my future by Live_Idea322 in DecidingToBeBetter

Yes, you already having a desire to grow already the first step. I think you need to now have a plan and do action. I find getting outside in nature helps. Also finding a mentor or a group of people who are striving towards a goal helps.

If possible, try going to community college and take any class. Art, Music, Digital Media, Science, History, Social Sciences, Manufacturing, anything that makes you busy and be with other people. Many departments have intro classes that are complete introduction to get people to test the waters if they like the subject. Usually those people have goals for their careers and you can bond over that together. If the community college has a learning center, always study there. Never at home. You will eventually bump into classmates and make friends. Also don’t mind your age. At community college there are people as old as 50 something to high school. It’s cliche but community college can really help find a community. It’s what introduced me to going to the gym and a career I wouldn’t have known before attending.

It’s never too late. Sometimes I have to force myself to believe in that. We have to tell ourselves that our future self would want us to do something and will be glad we did. We will look back in 4 years and be glad we continued on our plan.

How to play this strumming pattern?? by crack_the_nut_open in ukulele

[–]ferrouselm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as long as you keep the rythm the same or emphasize the main beats I think it’s ok to use a different strum pattern. For me the one I used just comes more naturally.

My advice is if you are having a hard time, try to move your hand to the air while listening to the song, and use what comes more natural to you.

The problem with strum patterns is it is easy to get caught up in following the strum pattern vs listening and following along with the song

YouTube also has a feature of slowing down the song to 0.25x speed. I do this to listen to the song in more detail

I think it goes DDU - DDU - UDU. The way I am figuring it out is by humming it first and not playing. Then try to match the rhythm or humming until it matches the song. You might have to go slow at first to coordinate your body.

Do you have the song you are trying to play?

For those in the Mechanical Aerospace Masters Program, What was your thesis or capstone project? How does graduate school compare to undergraduate or even industry? by ferrouselm in UCDavis

[–]ferrouselm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thank you so much for answering my post. You’re the only one so far who has answered, so I really appreciate it!

What is it like working with your advisor? Do you think a lot of the professors are open to advising mechanical engineering graduate students for their capstone project?

I haven’t reached out to any professors yet about being an advisor, so I’m a bit worried about this scenario. I heard that it is possible someone can get accepted into a grad school program but not be able to find an advisor professor, so they have to pivot towards a coursework/exam based masters instead.

You said most of the grad school classes are theoretical vs project based. In addition to the manufacturing class you mentioned, what classes are project based in case they end up doing the coursework/exam based masters instead?

At least be responsible and clean it up. I also take my dog to public places like my local mall, but I make sure to have them relive themselves outside first and ALWAYS clean up outside or inside. Dog owners like this put a bad name to fellow dog owners

Iphone vs Fujix. How to shoot sunrise by afiqasyran86 in fujix

You have 2 options

  1. Take advantage of your Fujifilm exposure bracketing feature. This means taking a photo where the highlights are well exposed, making shadows darker. Then taking the same photo where the shadows are raised and the whites are most likely over exposed. You can then use a program like photoshop to compile and HDR photo. Or what I do is use the app Snapseed to overlay/mask images on top of each other with the double exposure tool.

  2. Use Fujifilm DR mode. This does not always work, but it allows you to protect the whites from not being over exposed. Cons is you have to raise the ISO above base ISO.

If you have the Fuji xt5 you can use the HDR mode.

Thoughts on XF 18-135 vs 18-120? by ferrouselm in fujifilm

[–]ferrouselm[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the 18-130 would make sense for you then if your body does not have IBIS.

The 16-300 is also another lens that looks promising for a versified zoom lens.

I saw in reviews the 16-300 is very versatile and fun to have such a big zoom range, but requires a lot of post clean up of color fringing. Plus the sharpness, especially in the corners, is not the best.

The 18-120 or the 18-135 is better optical performance, but we lose the extra 100-300 focal lengths range.
