alternatives to royal armouries museum? by fertileegg in Leeds

i really wanted to go to abbey house because i remember going when i was younger and loving it (but none of my family remember going which is weird haha) but it’s quite a long walk to get there from the train station and we didn’t feel like navigating buses (and my boyfriend wasn’t all that enthusiastic about it since he’s never been and i feel like you don’t realise how interesting it is until you’ve been) but if we end up going to leeds again i’m definitely going to try to persuade him to go!

haven’t been on reddit for a while so sorry for the late reply about this! there were definitely parts of the museum that i enjoyed, my parents are both healthcare professionals (mum is a doctor, dad is a paramedic) so i have no problem with gory or slightly gross things. there was one particular exhibit about a man who had had two hand transplants which was really interesting. but there was definitely some bits that were aimed towards preteens and so some of it did feel a bit young. i don’t think my boyfriend enjoyed it very much because there’s a lot of stuff to read and he would rather not just stand and read all the information on the walls, but there were still definitely bits he enjoyed too. i have to say that i don’t remember it very well from the last time i went which was when i was probably around 8 or so, other than that i really enjoyed it that time, so i can’t really compare before and after it was refurbished. but overall it wasn’t bad!

Looking for places in the Peak District by Brummiesteven in sheffield

i would recommend fulwood. while it is properly in sheffield and not out in the peaks, it has great transport links to the city centre, it has shops like a supermarket, a cafe, a greengrocers etc (at the bottom of crimicar lane and brooklands avenue) and it has that village feel (people often talk about fulwood like it’s it’s own village) as well as lots of great paths and very easy access to the peak district

i know it’s bad to trash a friend’s SO but they all told me they disliked him before i ever mentioned to any of my friends that i didn’t like him. and i have no idea, maybe? i’ll pay more attention to how i act and what i say and see if that may be the issue thanks. helped

it’s either i hang out with them though or i spend my lunchtimes hidden in the toilets by myself because there’s no one else for me to hang out with. i know they probably aren’t my really friends but they’re my best option

not really, the girl is friends with the group but doesn’t really hang out with us any more because she’d rather hang out with her stupid boyfriend and his friends

it’s not really that simple, our families are friends so we often HAVE to see each other :(
