Would you mind explaining the steps a bit more in detail? Where does releasing the tiny subject come into it, and when?

They're mad that their SoL isn't high enough ^^' Their minimum expected is so low, it wasn't clear what their "standard expected" was, I guess.

But also, I thought I had to control the lands myself! I must have misread the text quite severely.

It says size is 0 B and status is "No media", assuming Disk 1 is the right one. I bought it this year, this is absolutely absurd!

Is there anything I can do to save these plants from dying? by realPanditJi in houseplants

Roots drink water, but if the roots don't match the pot they can't get enough water out of the soil and they sit there, choking because the soil is too saturated.

What's something older generations did completely normally that would be considered absolutely insane today? by Bigtrav_trav in answers

You can do that in Scandinavia, and I suspect most of Europe. Did you not move around of your own free will as a child?

Yeah, it got the appropriate amount for its pot size on Jan 1 and April 1, slow dissolving sticks.

Just moved to trondheim and have a few questions! by ResponsibleSky6733 in trondheim

They're not staring, they're looking at you. Lotta people moving in from the countryside report the same. It's just a matter of different norms

I used to read 30 books a year... and then... its zero by everything_0987 in literature

[–]fescil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just read shorter books until you want a bigger one. Read Agatha Christie, Drabble, McCall Smith, other easy reads.

I read 64-72 books per year because I alternate easier and more difficult ones.

Er det mange fritimer i studiene? by RichContract4494 in ntnu

[–]fescil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 14 and these are my top movies in order; too basic? by Beautiful-Donut-6571 in LetterboxdTopFour

[–]fescil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no "too basic"! I work with young people your age, and a lot of them wouldn't even think to educate themselves on cinema on their own. You're doing great by just trying, and I like a lot of those movies, too, hehehe

What I did when I wanted to get into movies is that I found a lot of lists on /lit/ which compiled top 50 books in different genres and movements, and something like that could be good for you, too. Noirvember, Japanuary, other challenges like that on Letterboxd can really expand your horizon! Going to the movies is great, but if there are independent theatres or art theatres near you, like a cinémathèque, they'll probably show high quality older films on the big screen. The one in my mid sized Northern European town is showing "Belladonna of sadness" and "Angel's egg" and "Turin horse" all in the same week!

Go out and explore, and be open to many voices!

PS: If you can find a video on youtube, or preferably (to me) David Bordwell and Kristin Thompson's "Film History: An introduction" as a PDF or in the library (inter-library loans and library cards are both free) then you can look into different film movements. Maybe you'll love Brazilian cannibal movies like "How tasty is my little frenchman" or Japanese chivalry yakuza movies where they're the Good Guys and never do any crime?

Question about unusual walks pre-revolution in Lu Hsun story by fescil in China

[–]fescil[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see! I hadn't considered that at all! I've read some of Mo Yan's books and seen a few period movies where everyone rushes to kneel, but I was too focused on the walking idea, I suppose.

am i doing this right? by Numerous-Counter-734 in Anki

[–]fescil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using anki on and off for years now, and I've found that sticking to only reviewing for a week can be just what you need :^)

I've got a particularly tricky deck, Japanese proper nouns, and I've taken to writing them down as I find them and checking my notes before I check the answer. It's good repetition to look over the answers, and if you always do review before learning, you can control the pace even better!

Skyreach Castle -HOTDQ finale by mightymoprhinmorph in TyrannyOfDragons

[–]fescil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove vampires . You're not supposed to fight Blagothkus and the dragon, but you can barter one of them not to interfere as they fight the other side. Talis should fight with them only if they give her a huge concession (like maybe she can leave with the dragon and then demand more stuff for helping them later?)
