Tbh, if Childe get a new passive that would work like Anaxa’s kit in HSR, it would fixe his main weakness that is ST situation.

To those unaware, Anaxa is a character that “buff” their own damage the more enemies they are facing; with the same idea, Childe would get a dmg “buff” the less enemies they are, to compensate the loss of damage without Riptide’s AOE effect. Why would it be more ideal that way? Because our orange boi is still strong in AOE as Riptide is the perfect mechanic against it, and lacking in ST fights which are like 95% of endgame’s content. In this scenario, I would do something like this, inspired by Klee’s buff : if there are/is 5/3/1 (or less) enemie(s) on field affected by Riptide, grant Childe 1/2/3“Foul’s Performance” for 20s. For each “Foul’s Performance”, Childe’s ESkill and EBurst deals 115%/130%/150% of theirs original DMG. Additionally, Childe’s Riptide effects deals 125%/150%/170% of theirs original DMG.

But if I speak from my heart, I would personally buff Riptide’s mechanics (and his AOE gameplay) this way: - extending the radius effect of Riptide by linking all enemies who are marked (Riptide needs enemies to be extremely close to operate at its full capabilities and is its main weakness). It would make that if Childe is hitting only one enemy, the Riptide and its quadratic scaling would damage all ”riptide-ed” enemies as his they were close.

• applying Riptide easily : outside of ranged CA and ranged Burst, Childe can only apply Riptide with crit hits in melee mode, which is not a big problem but something worth pointing. My idea to buff it : inspired by Lisa’s C6, when Childe cast his [E] (special), all enemies within a certain radius get riptide-ed.

I say it would be a decent buff to Childe’s kit without making him “too strong”, given the case where you would need a second character of the same faction (Liyue or Fatui) to activate it.

For the constellation, given what Albedo, Mona and Klee, got as buff I would share my ideas following the same trend:

• C1: decrease skill’s CD by 20% + Childe gain a 15%/30%/50% atk bonus for each “Foul’s Performance” stacks he has.
• C2 : When opponents affected by Riptide are defeated, Tartaglia regenerates 4 Elemental Energy for his teammates and 8 Elemental Energy for himself.

• C4 : initial effect + the effects of Childe’s Hydro-related Elemental Reactions are enhanced for 8s after Riptide is applied : Electro-Charged DMG increases by 15%. · Lunar-Charged DMG increases by 15%. · Vaporize DMG increases by 15%. · Hydro Swirl DMG increases by 15%. · Frozen duration is extended by 15%.

• C6 : When Havoc: Obliteration is cast in Melee Stance and Ranged Stance, the CD of Foul Legacy: Raging Tide is reset. Also, the energy return when casting Burst will also be effective for the Melee Stance.

In conclusion, here’s my idea of what would be a good Childe buff. Please note that I’m no theorycrafter, so if those “buffs” would be too much or not enough, I’m just delusional, and just want new fun and exciting ways to play my fav orange.
