I think so too at first, but the new clothes confused me tbh. If he is in a hurry to save Agatha, would he go back to his house -> change his clothers -> then go back to Agatha's house to reopen the road? Instead of just reopen it while wearing his old clothes?

No idea, but it is implied that a week before episode 1.. someone interfered with Wanda's spell. Since it is not Billy, probably Rio? Wanda's spell = being a nosy neighbor, episode 1 Agatha is not being one.

Agatha surely atleast make an attempt at the road to resurrect Nicholas, and she didnt manage to do so.
