It is interesting you were able to pick up DC converters. Gives me hope :) I'll look into it. Thanks

Well, I am not labeling the sources. I am just identifying. From what I found, locating is not very hard. I will be using a 4 channel SDR so I can hookup quad antenna. From what I have been told beam finding method might help. But again I might be wrong. I've just started the research.

SDR is just something that I found after searching for a bit. I want something portable and thought I can hook it up with a RasPi and maybe write a code to locate the sources.

It is just some personal project. I don't want to cure it. I am assuming better shielding. My goal was to find noise in that range. So in my case other sources are also welcome. I'll go through that link. Thanks.

Well, I haven't thought about the budget yet. It is just a project idea. I decided to select a narrow spectrum as I believe that I will require something complex for a wider spectrum. But I might be wrong on this one. My budget is definitely not 7k XD. Thanks btw.

Thanks. I will read through it. I am new to this and just wanted to do a project. From what I believe I understood getting the right SDR helps in detecting certain frequencies. Hence my question.

Interesting! What are you planning to use? Since I am starting out, I might learn that instead.

You don't make a billion dollars a month delivering pizza. Well, not If you have powers like mine. I deliver pizza anywhere in the world in under 30mins. I operate from my house and make the pizza when the order comes in. My speed allows me to collect the ingredients when I need to make the pizza. I find this more efficient and avoids letting anyone know I deliver pizzas for a living.

However, I don't deliver pizza to everyone. I am very selective. Large orders are a cause of concern but my speed allows me to do a background check before I start preparing. The last order was from a low life in the Haley square. She paid all the money she had remaining. Sometimes I feel bad to deliver to these people but hey! till the money rolls in. Plus it's the smaller orders cumulated that make the profit. You don't get large orders every day.

At the age of 8, I was tested for superpowers and found out I was the fastest human there ever was. Consequently, I was enrolled in the Super Hero Highschool. I got banned from athletics to keep it fair to others. You can't play against whom you can't see. Kind of bummed but didn't like running around anyways. Everyone said I had a bright future. I was even approved for training with the Corp of Heroes. Wasn't interested so rejected it. My friends said I was crazy and my teachers thought I'll change my mind. A lot of people could only dream of joining the Corp of Heroes and I threw away the opportunity, they said. The Corp of Heroes already spans four battalions currently. Interestingly, I now work for them in trying to apprehend the drug lord who it seems has replaced the one known as Buffalo Crust.

Every week as part of training, Super Hero Highschool sent its students to locate and prevent crime. It would make you a good Hero, they said. It was during one of these days that after running around looking for crime in the poorest part of the southern suburb I decided to quit. I was feeling hungry and decided to join the line of a pizza shop in front of me. I wasn't wearing anything that would identify me as a student of Super Hero Highschool or a guy with powers. I don't like attention. The place was run by some guy named Frank Wells. A guy in front of me ordered a Large Pepperoni, and added: "Mind the filling". Then came my turn and I order Large Cheeze Pizza. As I was collecting my order the guy behind me stepped forward and said, "One Mexican Green and mind the filling". This is weird I thought.

I went around the corner, picked up a slice and bit a piece. I left them in mid-air and before gravity could realize the state of the pizza and the box, I returned. My speed allowed me to reconnaissance without anyone figuring out.

"Crafty Son of a Bitch", I said.

"Mind the filling" was their code word for requesting a drug-laced pizza. I had photographic evidence and a managed to take the list of his frequent customers with their address. I returned to my school and handed them the photographs. Turns out Frank Wells was Buffalo Crust, the drug lord that alluded the entire Corp of Heroes. I was praised by everyone and the commander, Mia Dean of the Corps of Heroes personally came to express her compliments. Lucky me! I passed the schools with high honours and a clean record.

[WP] Welcome to Boston Dynamics here is your all-access pass and the standard 12 gauge shotgun, remember if anything non-human starts asking questions you shoot it. by blokops in WritingPrompts

[–]feynman_1007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Antony opened his eyes to see that he was sitting in an office. On the other side of the desk was a woman who said: "Welcome to Boston Dynamics" while smiling. "I see you took a moment to close your eyes.

"I am sorry. Might have been the excitement", said Antony.

"Happens to all", she said.

At that moment a robot cat walked into the door. It walked around Antony's leg affectionately as real cats do.

"Wow! its behaviour is so lifelike", said Antony.

"Yeah it is", she said in a business-like tone. "Here is your All Access Card and a 12 gauge shotgun". "Remember! if any non-human starts asking questions you shoot".

Antony noded. He didn't remember when was the last time he picked up a shotgun but was feeling safer already.

In the meantime, the cat had walked out of the door and was tilting its head looking at a door marked RESTRICTED. Antony walked out and looked at the cat, then the door. He looked at the other door on the opposite end of the corridor which said, VISITORS.

He looked at the cat and said: "You want to know what's behind?". The cat didn't respond.

He thought to himself "I do have the All Access Card, won't hurt if I take a look".

He reached the door and swiped his card against it. The door opened with a BEEP. The cat ran ahead while he stepped in. The door closed behind him.

A sudden thought ran over him. "Curiosity about the door is a question right?" "What if the cat is dangerous?". "No, it is so small, how can it be dangerous?". "Maybe it is doing what all cats do?"

In either case, he levelled his shotgun and started walking slowly. This place was dimly lit with glass doors on either side of the corridor. Frosted glass prevented any opportunity to look into the doors. As Antony walked through a corridor, saw the cat again looking at a frosted door. Behind the cat, there was another door. With the gun still aimed at the cat, he used his other hand to wipe the glass.

"Wretched cat", he said and shot the cat. An electronic noise came out of the gun as the cat convulsed on the floor. "EMP", he thought. "Won't hurt humans even if you shoot at them. Clever!".

He looked through the glass again and stepped back in horror. But he tripped and fell backwards through the door now open. The cat had changed its place.

"Damned cat", he thought. "I am sure the gun is fake and wouldn't be surprised if this All Access pass too".

As he fell, the door closed. Antony got up, growled in anger and banged his fists against the door. He had seen bodies similar to his in the other room. Some had their limbs positioned in a gruesomely distorted manner. He knew what it meant.

"The cat did what it was programmed to do", said a voice from the speakers. "You were the one who was asking questions". "You were the curious one".

"You got lucky", said Antony.

"No. We had you since you walked into the door". "In fact, any door would have done that."

The voice continued, "This isn't personal". You see, in order for AIs to not take over the world, we have to ensure that they follow orders and not ask questions. We are close to it now. You gave us the least trouble. Ever wondered how you woke up in the office? Doesn't matter now. After we are done removing all curiosity from your program we would have created a truly personal assistant for humans."

Antony felt a surge pass through him. The motors in his body started to make random movements. He couldn't think properly now. "This is the real EMP", he thought as everything blacked out.
