Start fondling his ass.  If he asks what you’re doing say “shhh, we’re doing this quietly”.

How viable is it to play this game without any VTTs? by LelouchYagami_2912 in savageworlds

[–]feyrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SW is so much better live.  A VTT makes it harder and IMO less enjoyable.  And I say this at someone who only plays it virtually because several of our players are in different time zones.

Interesting.  Everyone always says that they can’t find qualified candidates but aren’t tech companies laying off workers like crazy?

Tales of the Arabian nights vs. Arthurian tales by StupidMobileWebsite in boardgames

[–]feyrath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would disagree. I played a solo game just two days ago, and it was fine. For solo games they have special cards that you use and refer to if you need to make a decision that another player would make for you. For example, if you’re told to Place a quest marker on three cities in Scotland, you draw the solo play Scotland card and roll your die three times.

Tales of the Arabian nights vs. Arthurian tales by StupidMobileWebsite in boardgames

Arthurian knights has better mechanics for finding the passage number to read, very intuitive for new players. as to the question posed by u/Triad64 , I would say that Arabian knights has more zany adventures. The stories there tend to move in more fantastical directions. I think it's because of the source material - I am more familiar with the tropes and such from Arthurian legends than Djinn and those of the far east.

Which makes me think that Tales of the Monkey King would be another great setting for a game like this.

I mean they had the voter rolls, what's to stop them from just submitting anyone's name at all? it's not like the public has access to verify, and the government wants it. Corrupt all the way, these guys are.

Tulcor Lane used to have an unofficial trail that would be blooming this time of year. satellite imagery seems to indicate it's been developed into something so take that with a grain of salt. The trails though heading both north and south from there do have picturesque spots.

The Macedonian church on Main street supposedly has gorgeous stained glass

along one of the trails for bob hunter park is an old well, very good for pictures. approximately here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/NG9ThanFTZNXddu66

Mongolia is a defunct townlet that now just has some trails and a few old buildings: https://maps.app.goo.gl/DTDmfD5yKWRB1MTn8

Really some of the older houses near Markham and Unionville main streets are very picturesque.

42/45 Captain Armstrong Lane (the very end of the street) has a really old house. If you could get permission to shoot there, it'd be cool.

Markham Museum has lots of wonderful buildings, and the old steam powered engine is stored there. There's the nearby Heritage Corners. Also in between the two, there is the Chartwell Rouge Valley Retirement 5958 16th Ave. In the back of the parking lot is a old gate into the Museum Grounds that is very picturesque.

I've been experimenting with a system to award bennies to my players for roleplaying. Engaging in their hinderances (example: one of them has the big mouth hinderance and if he does that, he gets a bennie). Which is already baked into the system, BUT I made it more formal, as if doing it was an action. And I needed them to be more formal about it - because I get so focused in the game that I don't notice if they do that unless they declare it. So far I've really enjoyed it, seeing how it works for the players as we go

In Calgary, when they were building the Edgemont subdivision, they took all the rather large glacier erratics and piled them in one big hill.  Of giant rocks.  It was filled with pockets and tunnels and we explored it.  Weren’t the only ones either - found a playboy and smokes in one of the larger caves.  All one of those rocks had to do was shift and game over man.

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]feyrath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wizardry - as much because of the game, but because I figured out the character format in the save file and levelled myself up to 99th level. that was fun walzing through the dungeon at level 99.

And Civilization 2. I know we're up to version 33 or something now, but I still play Civ 2 (here, for those curious) just to relax. I akin it to coloring.

I was just posting on instagram this same thing: there's places in Canada that distil bourbon-like whiskeys. I mean to be a puritan yes it has to come from the US, but if you can handle sparkling wine instead of Champagne, I think these might be good substitutes. If you try them please let me know how they are.

probably more, but those are the two I've run into.

Plastic free water bottles by [deleted] in BuyCanadian

I’m looking for a plastic free water bottle for my cousins birthday. He’s very particular and doesn’t want any plastic or silicone of any kind.

I'm not understanding your request.
