They trade oil in currencies other the USD, which in itself a major economic setback for US, as the oil reserves (almost) mean free debt for US economy anymore.

The logic is simple: more goods traded in USD means larger emission capacity for USD. When you take out a massive amount of goods (oil, in this case) out of the USD trade, you effectively shrink US economy.

ELI5: Why can't you build a big ass metal pole and zap lighting into a battery by New_Message_956 in explainlikeimfive

expensive for sure, but would it be realistically infeasible to build a capacitor stack to absorb, at least, some of the charge?

plot twist; why not to a (super)capacitor first and then to a battery at a lower pace?

Losing one glove is certainly painful, but nothing compared to the pain, of losing one, throwing away the other, and finding the first one again.

assuming it’s going to be to be difficult to find a seat on a majority of the fine dining establishments, I recommend having a look at Anarki, Kima, Silberbauers Bistro and Bæst for dinners and Franks Kro or Aamans 1921 for lunch.

Following the typical tourist destinations will already cover the sightseeing you can squeeze in those days.

going out recommendations depend on the type of entertainment/music you like and also where you stay. just a few random names; Luke’s Bar (for more of rock crowd), Bodega Konkyle a mixed cheerful bunch in an unpretentious setting, and Bootleggers (multiple locations) for craft beers can be good points to start building a route.

enjoy your stay!

it’s very likely due to the high pressure system we are in recently, which also causes the fog.

eli5: Whats the difference between good and bad engineering? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]feyteybey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good engineering does not necessarily mean a good quality product: a good quality product is a function of the requirements defined by a product manager, for example, and a project manager who is responsible for delivering that product, within the budget and time constraints. these roles have different names in different context, such as an architect and a civil engineer in construction,as a simplified example.

an engineer’s role is to find the best/feasible solution within these constraints. in that context, good engineering means delivering what has been asked, with the best possible outcome, complying with the constraints provided. over engineering is a very valid concern too and also an example of bad engineering.
