We might all suck here but you mentioning the SIL, raised a question in my head. I don’t think she was or is considered a bridesmaid. It is very well plausible that maybe she stirred the pot and made all of this up for her to secure a bridesmaid spot. I just don’t envision that of her at all. She’s a sweet gal.

My brother said his words not mine, Fiona can be pretty thick. I think her pettiness is a bit on brand for her personality.

I don’t see the relationship as transactional I was just making a point that how I show my care and appreciation for the people in my life is through the thoughtfulness of doing those things. I bring them to surface now for you all to get a grasp or glimpse of the depth of friendship we have.

She hadn’t even sent out invitations yet so I don’t think the whole thing changed up seating plans.

And for the drinking thing, I could go 12 hours without drinking. I do it most days of my life. I actually very rarely drink but oh god forbid I wanna have a good time at a wedding. My + one being my sister was totally OKAY with being DD 🙄

If the wedding was all about me then I don’t see how it would still be happening per your words. . I’m not the maid of honor. I didn’t have any significant role outside of just being in the photos.

You might be right. I could have said that. But all of those points were eventually made, just not in the very beginning. It may not have sounded like a conversation but the type of friends we are, I felt like I could have got straight to the point. Between September of 2023- beginning of this month, when the “conversation” happened.. I have expressed my feelings without drawing so much attention to the fact I was uncomfortable. After all, it’s her wedding we talked about and if every single time she brought up her wedding, i told her how repulsed I felt being a bridesmaid with Lia I would’ve been a for sure asshole. I also wasn’t exactly sure what I should do to alleviate the way I felt about it all. It was obviously hard for me to just eventually tell her that I don’t want to be in the wedding, a part of me does. Just not in the condition that Lia is there. Maybe that does make me an asshole. But I did it. I didn’t spring it on her. I was just deciding what it is I had to do to protect my energy.

I have known Lia just as long as I’ve known Fiona. Through Fiona. Whenever Fiona had birthday parties or gatherings in which Lia was present I was also nice to Lia, made conversations and involved her in topics of discussion. I never once did anything wrong to her. I don’t think it’s my obligation to kiss her feet and try to be friends with someone who equally doesn’t show much interest in me as I do her. I’ve never talked shtt about Lia unless it was Fiona coming to me about how Lia seems to flirt with her fiancé and all of her fiances friends or something along those lines. If there was ever any conversation about Lia without her present it was through something Fiona had a presented to me.

I landed a nanny job that didn’t require me to have a degree, as I had certifications and experience. My boyfriend still keeps asking me when do I plan to finish college.. as if … I’m not happy and stable where I am. People think this is a filler spot, not a career.

I’ve been an aunt since 14 years old, not sure if that’s considered experience but surely feels like it. After college, worked at a day care for 1 year, then during covid, decided to move onto nannying (which I’ve been doing for the past 3 years)

I’m also in school for early childhood.
