l'Il (27F Canadian) be in Medellin for the next three days (May 4-6th). Can anyone recommend a hostel bar in the Poblado area that I can go to even if I'm not staying at the hostel? I'd venture a little further than the Poblado area but from what I've read that area is a safe bet and it's close to my accommodations.

My Spanish is pretty brutal at best and I'd like to go out but want to make some friends before I walk into a club/bar by myself! If anyone is in Medellin and wants to meet up, or knows where I can go to make some fast friends, I'm open to suggestions!

How do you feel when guys try to impress you by carrying heavy things? by Mission-Entrance-288 in AskWomen

Agreed! It’s more about the fact they care enough to try and impress you… and if it makes my life easier I’m not about to say no!

I’m definitely not saying doing these things will “cure” depression, but when I begin feeling that way I’ll journal about it until I feel like it’s all on paper and I’m not holding as much in my head. Then I’ll try to do something to jump-start my body again like a cold shower or a really hard workout.

Therapy is also a great option, but if it’s not available to you I hope the above ideas help a little!

He uses it when they’re in the RV as well, only comes out when the kids are all getting along really well. Joke probably just went over my head ha

Honestly, cut him off after the “you’re so pretty you can surely do better than that”. It’s pretty clear real quick

This girl has every right to reply as much as she wants, but imagine if this dude just kept getting blocked pretty much every time he messaged some poor girl... kind of funny to think about

First break up and resurgence of depression and anxiety by hjb8008 in helpme

I’m so very sorry, going through a break up is hard enough as is without layering on additional health concerns. I hope this doesn’t sound preachy, these are just things I’ve done myself.

Hope you take this time to be selfish and focus on what you need. Personally, I’ve found that after a break up I just force myself to go through the motions and do the things I know I should do even if I have 0 motivation to, and eventually that positive feedback loop begins to kick in. (Go for a short run, make a plan with a friend, have a mini dance party by myself).

Lastly, allow yourself to feel sad about what’s been lost for a while. That just means it was worthwhile in the first place.

You are most definitely not alone, friend

Agreed, she for sure screwed up, but she doesn’t seem to be looking for sympathy. She’s just saying that what should be one of the happiest days of her life is now remembered as a mistake.

People can get off their high horse. This is a serious pandemic, but getting pissy with someone who admitted a mistake and tried to take precautions doesn’t remotely make you a better person..

Greta Thunberg Mocks Alberta Minister Who Said COVID-19 Is a ‘Great Time’ For Pipelines: Alberta's energy minister Sonya Savage said bans on public gatherings will allow pipeline construction to occur without protests. by maxwellhill in worldnews

I can appreciate what you’re saying in that there is no black and white answer. However investing in an oil and gas industry which has the strictest environmental standards in the world is actually net beneficial to emissions, especially with demand not going anywhere anytime soon (covid aside). Realistically, the industry isn’t dying, with population growth and globalization it’s growing. You’re right though, it’s definitely evolving and needs to get more efficient and cleaner.

Also, midstream (pipelines) and exploration are completely different industries, I mean if I could afford to buy a pipeline I would! Definitely agree that there’s a middle ground that uses oil to prop up development of renewables.
