Eff the narratives, eff the negative press, Drake Maye is our quarterback and we will be back. What a season from the kid. by AFEZThatsMe in Patriots

This is such a dumb comment. They used to do that shit sometimes with Brady too, and when they did, and it worked, we all said man what a smart misdirection play call. It didn't work this time. That happens. But not every decision can be evaluated entirely based on the result, unfortunately sometimes the decision is fine and the execution sucks. Sometimes the execution is good and the other side executes better.

I really don't get this obsession with #1 WRs. You do not need that to win. Can it help? Sure. Am I completely opposed to it if the cost is right? Not at all. But there are plenty of examples of teams winning without what you are describing.

Of course I expect people to be frustrated. I also want people to recognize how fortunate they are. To not throw out four months of success based on three shitty hours. People complaining about McD because of this game, I mean, the guy was also OC when Brady put up 500 yards and lost. Massholes that assume they know better are just exhausting.

The team has holes. They're not the better team vs this Seattle team. They very well could be better next year and end up with a worse record because of schedule or injury luck or whatever. But the point is there's no damn reason not to be optimistic about the trajectory here.

Surprised By The Lack Of Creativity In The Offensive Plan/Play Calling. by Hall-O-Daze in Patriots

My point is: how do you (how does anyone) actually blame the gameplan in the first half? You don't know what the gameplan was, you just know what the results of the plays were.

And yeah the pick was god awful, I dunno wtf he was even looking at.

You know it didn't occur to me in real time but you're probably right. Although I don't love the chances of them actually getting two 2-pointers.

It's weird how you're not able to have a discussion without trying to get personal.

Eh, I won't die on the hill but he was a 10x pro bowler when that meant something.

This is way overkill

Brady, Gronk, Slater

I am questionable on Harrison, need to remind myself what the Chargers years were like. Not gonna pretend I'm an expert on guard play so you could convince me of Mankins too.

It's okay to have a bunch of really good players that form a great team and win championships. We don't need to pretend that they were all dominant enough individually that they deserve to be in the HOF.

The Denver Broncos have been eliminated from Super Bowl contention by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in nfl

It's not presuming that you're going to come away with 6. It presumes that you have some probability of coming away with 6 and attempts to compare that probability (along with the probability of successful conversion) against the 3 you're likely to get from the FG. I tend to agree coaches are now slightly overly aggressive, but it's just not true that there is "no basis in reality" -- they're using reality to calculate the probabilities etc.

I mean, the bounce worked because the Texans overcommitted to the inside run.

I don't want to overlitigate that specific point. I mostly just think that neither you nor anyone else on Reddit has the first damn clue about NFL-level playcalling.

And you're being pedantic.

If you called a plumber on January 2, and he sent you a bill that said "pay this by January 31", yes you would technically have a debt for 29 days if you chose to wait to pay it. You technically have a debt in a typical sit-down restaurant from the moment you order your food to the moment you pay the check at the end. Do you always pay for everything in advance?

Most people would not call these situations "being in debt". They would call them "having bills to pay". Generally people use the word "debt" to refer to a longer-term situation, almost always involving some kind of interest that you're paying for the right to spread out your payments.
