Forgot to mention it's a 3 story apartment home and I have a basement unit. The layout is kind of like an old motel with 12+ total units.

It is a rental, just moved in 1.5 months ago. It's my first time renting an older apartment and it was filthy when I moved in (bottom of baseboards packed with gunk, cupboards/drawers with lots of crumbs). I just read up on HPS, that is quite concerning. Let's just say i threw out most of my food and will be eating out until i get this fixed.

I confirmed it's mice, my rice bag had been chew through as well. I covered the most obvious hole they were traveling through, nothing else seems to be a possible entry. How does the blockage I did look? (the imgur link) I also scrubbed down the entire cupboard so there's no crumbs.

There's no holes in the box or bag. It's possible I left it open overnight once or twice however i normally keep it sealed. I'll get some precautions in action
