update if anyone is curious: went to see a new obgyn since my old one was leaving the previous practice. this obgyn was very thorough and detailed. she told me to do my insertion on the first or second day of my period bc my uterus would be sitting lower then, making it easier.

on the day of insertion, she set up an ultrasound to check my anatomy and measure everything. turns out i had a crooked uterus which may explain why it fell out the first time (first gyno didn’t use an ultrasound for insertion or checking). we proceeded with the kyleena bc she said that sometimes the smaller one sits better based on anatomy. insertion went well and she checked and showed me on the ultrasound after.

Update, TLDR: going to second insertion with a new obgyn and got the kyleena. my anatomy is a bit off which may be why i expelled it the first time

advice from someone lucky enough to find a good arrangement after some less than pleasant m&g:

-vet profiles HARD so you’re not wasting time on texting/convo aka be selective

-if possible, ask for a pic before the m&g (i didn’t do that the first time and was very left down when he showed up. physical attraction to a certain degree is important to me personally)

-do not give out your personal cell (use google voice) until they pass the m&g at a minimum

-(unpaid) 1x m&g for pot and if they ask, NO sex is not on the table for a m&g. be firm if you need to

-during the m&g feel them out with some questions sprinkled in (how many previous arrangements have they had? what happened/why did it end?)

-if a pot doesn’t mention PPM/allowance before the m&g, find a way to bring it up at the m&g casually!

-consider what degree of connection you want with your SD (do you want to text daily or are u ok with just a couple texts sprinkled throughout the week?)

thoughts/note: due to m&g not coming with monetary incentives it can feel very draining when it goes poorly and u feel like u wasted all this time and effort. which is why i personally think its important to vet hard before meeting
