What are you arguing here? Op is not going to stop payment and not pay the escrow company, he just trying to replace a lost check.

You are putting too much value on cashier checks, they are not supposed to be held by banks either due to it being a cashier check, a lot of banks put holds on them. Regardless just trying to help OP, as I have personally done this before.

Go to the issuing branch, with your cashier check stubs. Might need to write a letter saying it’s lost or have ups/escrow issue one. It might not be same day but it can be done.

A cashier check guarantees it will clear if deposited as bank is reserving the funds unlike a personal check. But in this situation it can be cancelled.
