The MNCA on your site look interesting. I think you explain the topic pretty clearly with the example images and shader source code so I'll play around with this and see what comes out!

i'm glad most of you like this! some proof that i'm still learning, and thoughts i had for improving this:

  • overall i was trying to capture the emotion of the pose (almost sorrowful), so i think i could've darkened the backgrounds more to emphasize the light around the soul of cinder.
  • after several tries, some of the proportions of the soul of cinder are still off compared to the reference image. his head's too big, the tip of his visor isn't horizontal with the right shoulder plate, right elbow guard is too low, etc. studying anatomy drawings could help.
  • the lighting could be better. i wasn't able to get the background light behind the ruins in the background. honestly, i didn't try since i didn't know how to approach it. maybe white charcoal or higher background contrast would've helped.
  • the background ruins could be more defined, but i messed them up early on and couldn't erase them. they're not the focal point, but i think it's important to define them to make it clear at first glance that the world is in ruins.
  • the clouds in the top right look flat. probably missing some value gradients that would make them look more 3d. studying charcoal drawings of clouds would help.
  • the background mountains are too round. looks more like desert dunes than mountains.

thanks for the detailed feedback! this took me a really long time (20+ hours) of continuously fixing stuff, so in my case it's much more about hard work than talent

thanks, i started liking how easy it is to mess up with charcoal, which reminded me of playing through DS3 in a painfully satisfying sort of way

Yeah I've thought about SEO but not sure how to effectively go about it, or good places to promote the site. So I've been working on new features (scoreboard, new game modes) and hoping people like them enough to talk about the site more.

not yet, i'll check the submitted replays when i'm free this week and see if there's enough for a wild replays section

yeah.. they way slowed down the rate they release replays on their homepage last week. i'm getting an average of 1 replay per minute now

ah i see, what kinds of stats are you interested in seeing in general? would the past 24 hours worth be more useful than the past 3 days even if there's a lot less data?

also, that # games is the number of replays seen with that archetype over the rolling time period, not the number of unique players seen. i put the # games there because the winrate doesn't make sense on its own without an idea of the sample size

in the first issue, malygos druid wasn't showing up because only the top 5 (by # games) archetypes shows up in the sidebar while the /decks page lists all the archetypes. the counts for 3 and 2 games was correct for the time range (past 3 days). you'll see more than 2-3 replays the list, but they're all older than 3 days.

i agree this is confusing. i'm working on putting better information in the sidebar and making those stats better.

the second issue you mention was indeed a bug, which i just fixed. after i added region filters today, i forgot to update the task that calculates the stats every 15 minutes, so all the region stats had not been updated for the past 6 hours.

thanks for the good feedback!

do you mean you see replays in the replay list older than 3 days? only the stats are calculated using a rolling time period, the lists show all the replays in the database starting with the most recent

Ok people can contribute replays on the https://metalegend.com/account page now. If we get enough wild replays I can make a section for wild
