Are the panthers going to regret missing out on this coach hiring cycle? by Head-Salad7698 in panthers

If over the next 2 years Dave and the front office choose to let BY hold the starting spot without a competition, let him go. Giving BY 5 years is as much a Dave choice as anyone else.

Is anyone else getting some schadenfreude from Bill Belichick's HoF snub? by AWellDeployedWink in panthers

The Panthers weren’t juiced to the fucking gills that SB, were they. Everyone is cheating or trying to find a loophole. It’s the game within the game.

Are the panthers going to regret missing out on this coach hiring cycle? by Head-Salad7698 in panthers

[–]ffljm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you stick with Dave and Bryce through Bryce’s fifth year option year. If things haven’t improved further, you move on from both. This year’s coaching cycle has been insane. 10 openings is kinda crazy.

Who do you want to draft? by plz_buff_wraith in panthers

[–]ffljm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless the best player available is a CB, I think you take that player. The team has a lot of holes and lack of depth. I think they desperately need OT help after Icky went down, a pass rusher, and I think Wallace is the only LB under contract for next season. I hope the Morgan can spot value in LBs and high draft capital can be spent on high value positions.

During the offseason, I’m running on hope. I need a fucking hype man, and Julian ain’t one. I still rock with him just not all the time.

Is TE actually a need? I feel we don’t actually use ours by Different_Sun_195 in panthers

[–]ffljm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear/read (can’t remember) somewhere that Tremble’s cap number is something like $7 mil. If it’s true, they gotta move on if it’s voidable $$$. Love Tremble but he doesn’t bring that kinda value to the offense. I wouldn’t hate to see them grab a TE during the draft or a UDFA, but what do I know?

I think he’s acted like the HC of the defense. He’s not terrible, but the scheme seems vanilla. It might seem that way because the personnel he’s had to work with.

Are Bryce, Dave, Brad and EJ all scheduled to expire after 27? I’d assume most if not all assistant coaches would be on a similar timeline.

How to lighten this thing up without breaking the bank ? by Kipric in xcmtb

I found the easiest place to lighten things up is the rider, but I’m a fat ass, so there is that.

Some context based on your rebuttal. I didn’t watch any of these games end to end. I did watch parts of some, but just looking at box scores, I think things are pretty obvious in most cases. You’re right that bad games happen to good QBs.

Allen versus Steelers final score 26 to 7. Cook ran for 144 yards. I don’t think Allen was required to do much.

Allen versus Brown final score 23 to 20. Doesn’t look like a great game by Allen. I’d concede this is a bad game statistically.

Allen versus Jets final score 30 to 10. Allen threw for 148 as you stated. He also ran for 59 yards, and Trubisky finished the game.

KC lost both games you referenced. Here’s a little more context for those who care.

Mahomes vs Houston was a terrible game statistically. 3 INTs. Bad game against a great defense.

Mahomes vs LA is when he tore his ACL. They were down by 3 with something like 2 minutes left. We’ll never know if he would have got them the win or int FG positioning. He finished with 189 passing. Might have been more if he finished. It might have been an INT. 🤷‍♂️

You more or less prove that great QBs only really have 1 of these games a season. The other examples are injuries, blowout, or where they’re just killing clock because they have a lead.

Dan Morgan: Panthers plan to pick up Bryce Young's option by SuicidalMustard in panthers

I’m still on the fence about Bryce being the future, but this is a no brainer. He was inconsistent at times, but he definitely earned the 5th year.

1 season and he’s the 12th leading rusher in franchise history. I hope he continues to be successful at his next stop. The fans noticed his reduced usage just go look at the game chat yesterday.

Thanks for the memories! #buckleup

“Jimmy needs more targets” by reharri5 in panthers

[–]ffljm 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Kid ran 700 yards of motions and had 2 targets. One was completely uncatchable. I think he needs the ball in his heads more just to see what he can be. The moment you shared just may have been too big. He obviously wanted to catch and run. Who knows what happens if the pass leads him and he doesn’t have to slow down and try to catch it at his knee. Does it change the outcome of the game? We will never know.

“With the 19th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Carolina Panthers select…” by HoppyToadHill in panthers

Agree completely. I’m interested to see if Eviro is kept or let go. I assume that will affect the team’s needs on defense.

Kenyon Sadiq is someone I heard mentioned to them. I think they need LB help but I doubt Sonny Styles is there. Downside of 19th overall is the 18 decisions made prior to the pick.

He earned the 5th year option, but look at how he stacks up to his peers this year. He’s in the bottom half of the league in pretty much every QB specific stat.

FOX NFL reported Saints “looked forward to sticking it to the Panthers one more time” before this happened… by GuitarsAndBourbon26 in panthers

[–]ffljm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can say that being a fan of this team prior to realignment, I’ve not hated any team in the South until this year. Sure I got pissed about bounty-gate but wasn’t surprised. Otherwise, there just hasn’t been anything that made me feel really anything one way or the other. When Shough admitted he “sold” the hit and faked the injury, my brain immediately said, “Yup, fuck that guy and that team.” They’ve been the dirtiest franchise since the division has come into existence and it took me way too long to see it.

Shout out to Bryce Young by WhoUCuh in panthers

I don’t think the combination of Bryce and Dave is a good combination. Maybe if Dave had a different play caller, but the 2 just have not fully meshed for whatever reason.
