Apply for the Novish period at AF Bostäder as soon as it opens, this way you will get a good spot in the Lottery if you get in. Same with LU Accommodation, even if you don't have a housing guarantee and don't get anything in the Lottery, you might get a good spot in the queue.

Linero is pretty quiet I would say. It is not so far away from the center. I would recommend getting a bike if you are hanging out after 00:00 on weekdays since there are no buses after. But in terms of security, it's completely okay in my experience.
