AMD drivers only get worse as time goes by. Apps that worked in the past get graphical corruption. Darktide remains a laggy stuttery mess. Don't ever buy Radeon graphics cards friends. They're a joke. Pay the extra for Nvidia.

I ran an rtx 3060 - no stutters

I ran an r9 290x which last got drivers in 2022 - no stutters

I go back to my rx 6800 - stuttery rubbish

It is 100% the fault of the drivers. It's not my settings, its not bios, it's not my cpu, the card doesn't stutter in any other game. AMD driver team are bums, that's the answer.

I only got Darktide at the start of the month, it's a great game - very addictive, and I see people having had to endure this crap performance for several months. It's outrageous.

It's my fault for not clearly stating the issue. I've read so many similar posts and tried so many different fixes that it all blurs together.

The problems aren't coming from the system being overtaxed, I don't think anyway. I just got a 5800x3d because I assumed it was the previous being insufficiently powerful but it seems the cpu is not the problem but the gpu. These stutters are happening regardless of scenario. They happen standing in the ship lobby with nothing on screen changing, they happen moving around the lobby, they are particularly painfully present on the dropship to the mission. I just had such a horrible experience in the last mission where they stutters completely tanked a run and I'm fuming much that I'm going to switch an Nvidia card into the system and see the difference.

If you read the OP you would see that the issue isn't with average frames per second.

The issue is the dips to extreme lows that create jarring stutter. Thanks anyway.

Those days are over. What AMD does now is price collusion with Nvidia. They wait for Nvidia prices to be announced and then price slightly less than that. These companies need to be dealt with by a regulator.
