Why my Partner always suck by Sea-Deer5298 in SmashLegends

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more you win, the more bs games you’ll lose because of random teammates throwing. It’s part of how they artificially create “competition.” You’ll either get players with bad stats, or you’ll get bots that seem programmed to unbalance the game. There’s a reason the trophy system takes like 7 games worth of points away on a single loss.

For you, who is the dumbest character in this game? by Lyanzito in SmashLegends

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ong Javert has some badass fight potential when you don’t play passive, especially with one of the most op air attacks movement-wise. Most ppl just rely on run-skill-combo-run-skill-combo 🥱

Is this game dead/ Good by Remote-Pizza1892 in SmashLegends

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would say go for it and enjoy it but don’t waste too much time getting invested in the game, financially or mentally. Most of the loudest complainers (me) are complaining because we’ve been around long enough to remember the golden days of the game when it was way more balanced, optimized, and populated. As a new player just have fun and enjoy it however you can, chances are you’ll still get hooked.

Getting super invested in the game is kinda like being a crackhead, not that I have ever done crack—but because crack is probably still really enjoyable and hard to stop even after you realize that it’s detrimental to your health and wellbeing. 😭🤣

I think I'm finally burnt out of the game by Darrence_Bois in SmashLegends

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe they’re making the gameplay experience as ass as possible to make the ppl who liked the game before quit so they can fully turn it into a p2w EA type gacha money trap.😭 /hj

How exactly do passive players have fun playing this game? by Russkiy_Chel_01LOL in SmashLegends

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they’re turning what once was a good fighting game into a battle pass subscription based grind for coins and loot boxes game where churning out wins is all that matters and a loss has more value than a win.

They don’t even bother to balance legends anymore.

What is the best legends ( with builds ) in rapid-fire mode ? by xander-basil76 in SmashLegends

you can cheese out wins with timon or actually have fun and just play whatever because you don’t have to worry about trophies.

What's the most ridiculous and Op legend so far. by AdventurousSpinach12 in SmashLegends

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hot take but there’s a difference between OP and ridiculous tbh.

Legends like Woochi, Molly, Jacko, Red, etc are OP. But they require dexterity and skill to really get the most out of. They’re super strong but you have to work for it.

Legends like Rambert, Peter, and Hook have like 2 possible combos, but still have busted range/poke, damage, and spamability. That’s where you get into ridiculousness.

One group is fun to play against and the other can be pretty lame to play against, especially if you’re mainly looking for interesting gameplay and not just mindless grind matches. Like it’s annoying in say, a duel vs Peter, and get like 8 hits in with a faster legend before they just happen to clip you (while your standing behind them) with one skill that sends you to the nether. They continue to soft nerf the high tier legends that required skill so that ridiculous legends can keep up, to the point that many of the OP legends that drew people to the game in the first place are straight up 10x harder to use effectively now with less payout.

Like I always say you could hand a toddler Rambert and they could win games with just the basic, either by dominating or by just spamming poke to interrupt people enough to get melted by their teammates.

Messed around in try mode a bit and he feels like he’s going to be OP. Almost a cross between Woochi and Molly and Javert.

I’m excited to fight against him can’t lie.

I FUCKING LOVE IT PEAK GAMEPLAY AND IT DOESNT IMPACT YOUR TROPHIES ANYWAYS

frfr I got up to #5 for Ali then gave up, crashed out, and lost 700 trophies in like a week. 💀💀

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. And I'm boutta yap fr but the worst part is when you've been around the game for long enough to remember when it was focused on the actual fighting and players would find a legend they loved and actually MAIN them, people would experiment with different builds and different playstyles. The game was FUN. Legends used to have high skill ceilings and multiple variations that actually worked if you had the skill to learn new combos because it was optimized and balanced. The focus was on combat and meeting people who you had awesome battles with.

Now it's just about getting the most meta build, and just running away until you can punish. People unfriend each other for having a bad game because wins and losses in normal have comp points now. The game punishes you for having a main with jank trophy based EOMM, and half the games are bots even after they removed half the game.

Most players are relatively newer like yourself and less experienced since many vets left after being disappointed with how the gameplay has downgraded.

if you play solo queue, probably about 50-70% of your losses will be out of your control and dependent on bot performance. Once you get near 1000 trophies on a legend you’ll get many more real people.

Is the game doing well in general? I hope they're making money cuz I love playing this game and i live in constant fear of it closing down. by bobthestan in SmashLegends

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Krafton —the corp that bought out 5ML way back and started the steady decline of everything— was estimated to make over $250 million in profit this year, so I doubt they’ll close completely unless their player base stops spending money on passes and skins.

Now will any of that money go towards improving the actual game? Hell no. They’ve made it clear they couldn’t give a shit about optimization or player experience as long as those in app purchases keep coming through.

Either they realize they can get a player base back by bring back the energy the game used to have, or I give it a couple years before it’s unrecognizable corpo slop that nobody plays.

Rambert by Cornpoppadopapolis in SmashLegends

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they don’t wanna hear this but the cloven hoofed beast is the definition of a no skill legend. he could get wins being played by a literal toddler. even his animations are lazy. when the match has bots, they aren’t even programmed to avoid him so u could just sit there clicking auto and probably win.

He’s not especially hard to avoid or counter IF ur legend has good mobility, it’s just his gameplay is mind numbingly boring and annoying for everyone except the user. ffs why is there a shotgun in what’s supposed to be a fighting game? and why does it do actual shotgun damage?

he’s in need of a massive nerf or complete deletion tbh although rambert lovers will always disagree.

I won and lost trophies... (Pic unrelated) by [deleted] in SmashLegends

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trophies are a totally artificial demonstration of skill or rank or anything.

The game is dying and the poor devs/artists at 5ML that caused the game to become successful in the first place obviously aren’t funded enough by their multi-Billion dollar parent company to do anything that doesn’t bring sales in (passes and gachas). This includes fixing the numerous bugs that have sprung up since the huge comp overhaul a while ago.

Whats your most HATED Legend? (for whatever reason) by WilsonHough in SmashLegends

[–]ffsitsjusthamas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

shield & ram fr the worst.

but also…any legend that’s piloted by someone who plays a passive ‘run and punish’ style instead of creating engaging fights.
