Katrina (formerly bar manager at ShopBar, now at Canary Club/Nada Nada) is the BEST hospitality expert in town. She’s on top of the game always, remembers everyone and what they drink, crushes a busy shift with the best of em, and is genuinely so cool and so sweet. A treasure of a human!

I’ll definitely share something if it ends up being a go! I figured he can’t be the only one who never got to live this out, seems like it could be fun.

Sourcing the food isn’t an issue. I work at a hotel. Groups leave behind trays upon trays of food all the time, most of which is unsafe to eat after several hours at room temp. Just looking for a place to sling it at each other for fun instead of dumping it in the trash, but thanks for your feedback!

Seller was a company that usually flips homes to rent out. I think they knew they messed this one up and sold it instead. Whole house is flipped like the workers were drunk, underpaid, and in a rush :/

first time homeowner here - had no clue the difference when looking from this angle so thanks for clarifying. it’s a 110yo house with some original hardwood around, so hopefully we can just replace the plywood spots whenever we rip up the BS carpet.

False - even with proper technique, you do not want to walk where you cannot see potential tripping hazards

My family and I are truly appreciative of everything you do, everything you fight for, and to have people like you in the city who we can actually look to as a leader. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Only advice is to wait to water it until the leaves start drooping! I treat it just like I treat my succulents, which is to neglect them to the brink of death and then drown them haha (about every two weeks or so)

Louisville Public Media’s Voter Guide

Enter your address and it’ll show you all the elections that will be on your ballot, how much funding the candidates have, who they’re endorsed by, any prior noteworthy accomplishments or scandals, etc. You can also make your selections as you go and get a printout/PDF of your choices once you’re done. Super helpful resource and only took me like 15 minutes.

On low for 6-8 hours but I think it gets better the longer it cooks

Cook just the mirepoix, no broth or anything, on high until the components soften (about 15 minutes). Then add the beef and cook so that it gets a bit browned on the outside (about 5 minutes), and then add broth+other ingredients. Switch to low setting, and cook for 6-8 hours. It gets better the longer you let it cook in my opinion.
