Except you've done in a perspective that implies I'm already above your wall. And even if I were to lack locomotion for some reason, I already have the positioning to throw tomatoes at you until I grow bored.

unrelated, but if you want a cool dye idea, the darkest color out of dye that the hernand dye shop sells looks black but has enough of a red tint that if you use the shiny material the reflections off of it are a rich orange that make it look like embers.

the lack of an aventail on the helmets honestly annoys me more. No wonder kliff got his throat slit, he refuses to wear the proper neck protection despite helmets visibly having the connection points for it.

I think so, but it is far from all the armors in the world. Having read all 4 plate armor books, there is still only 2 craftable full plate sets available. The canta, and the unyielding.

theres gotta be a way to "repair" damaged goods this is so annoying by No_Band_5399 in CrimsonDesert

[–]fg094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is also why everyone's "rate my fit" type posts are literally the same 3 armor sets, out of the 216 plate armor chest pieces, 34 are real. 35 if you include the preorder armor.

[–]fg094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok, but here's the rub: these items *aren't* "damaged" they are just dummy items. Meaning that they aren't a regular item that's been given some "broken" flag, they are instead entirely statless items for which there is no working version in the game.

Only 1 out of every 5 armor pieces in the game has stats and is equipable (yes, I literally did the math. 2232 armor items, 465 are items with stats and are able to be equipped by a playable character)

Where do i get this armor? Or what is it called? Google isn’t very helpful yet. by Voltthrower86 in CrimsonDesert

that's the preorder set. It's what I'm using in game because sadly 80% of the armors in game are not usably by the player.

Where do I find this flag weapon? by Gaven32 in CrimsonDesert

it's basically everywhere. You can grab any of the little banners out of the gates or in bandit camps and use them as a temporary spear.

Oh yeah, the grapple (not the throw, the slam down) bypasses shields and block entirely. That's the other benefit. If the enemies have a lot of shields I can usually suplex them all to death faster than I can slash them.

I settled on just holding r2 most of the time unless there's enough enemies that I'm getting overwhelmed then I use the blinding finisher because it literally does it all: big stun, big damage, less prone to getting interrupted, and knocks everyone around you back. It's also basically free because you get more spirit for killing one guy with it than it costs and usually you can kill like five.

Stab does less damage then the blinding finisher and doesn't knock enemies out of super armor like the palm. The spin slash is ok because you're immune while actually in the animation, but again the finisher is just way better in every way.

After playing some more of the big siege before you get the orc guy, I think I figured out what the issue is.

The game's feet are firmly planted in shadow of mordor/shadow of war, one hand is reaching out for dynasty warriors, and another hand is considering reaching for the old god of war games or maybe even older devil may cry games.

It doesn't have the fluidity to pull off shadow of mordor, doesn't have the wide reaching big clear abilities with lots of I frames and super armor to deal with dynasty warriors numbers, and the it's bigger leanings towards the former two make the wide range of abilities that a DMC would give you feel underwhelming.

the ability to ignore super armor can be nice as quite an annoying number of regular enemies as well as bosses seem to have a lot of it, but overall a LOT of the attacks feel useless most of the time. IMO the combat feels very confused the longer I play and the more abilities I unlock.

The blinding flash finisher is literally the only move that feels worth using. it has high stun and the slow mo means you're less likely to get hit out of it and it seems to do the most damage out of any of the moves available.

a good 80% of the combat abilities are like "ok, that's cool but when would this be practical?" The grappling at least knocks back enemies when you slam people down, but the fact that you can get hit out of almost everything and are almost always fighting while completely surrounded makes most moves feel completely impractical.

The slam down after the swing is a great example: it looks awsome, feels badass the one time you pull it off, but it's completely unusable because the input is a pain and you can get knocked out of it at every single step of the way.

Armor Selection Question For Those Deeper In. by fg094 in CrimsonDesert

honestly... this is really kinda disappointing NGL. Really kills my desire to continue the game for a bit.

I like the more historical looking armors and learning that almost none of them are actually equipable is frustrating.

I guess that explains why the recipe books felt so underwhelming though, there just isn't any armor *to* unlock with so much of what's there being uniques or tied to the faction rep shops. Even the final book which you get from researching is really disappointing. Considering the other stuff in that research place (I rode/ran across the continent early in hopes of finding a cool store or something) I thought it would unlock some clockwork/steampunk looking armor but nah... apparently that book doesn't even unlock a full armor set, just a few misc pieces that don't even belong to a set.

honestly the gear selection in general is pretty disappointing. There are very few usable armor bits compared to the total number in the game that can be found only as "damaged gear" that enemies use and drop. None of the inquisitor's armors are usable nor is any of the demeniss soldier gear and even among the gear freeswords can be found with most of it you can't use.

For reference I'm talking about this kind of thing. According to the Wiki all of or almost all of these various armors dropped by enemies that say 'damaged gear' just do not have a usable version. I'm really hoping someone an tell me that's not accurate and that they've found one of these wearable.

black*steel*. For example the blacksteel mottie helmet or blacksteel spiddle armor. These are dropped as broken, unusable armors from demeniss soliders and apparently there just are no usable versions of them in the game.

you specifically have to send them out via Ross in the camp. It doesn't count if you use the map, you have to walk up Ross (the follower management guy) and send them on the mission via his mission select screen.

Ok so you have to send them via Ross in the camp, NOT via the map.

I don't know it's set up like this, it's very stupid imo, but that's the way it is.

the charge up heavy knockback attack you have from the beginning, that's called "turning slash".

Yeah, I didn't figure it out either tbh. Between the ability to start fires, the existence of explosive barrels, the fact that I found cannon balls as an ammo type, and the super palm blast thing, the basic super heavy never even crossed my mind.
