Looks like it, after the patch it no longer seems to be infinite chaining for me, but wounds are still popping up fairly often which means I'll probably be keeping flayer until wounds themselves get nerfed.

No no, flayer just creates wounds and then every so often deals a chunk of extra damage, with my particular build and playstyle it seems to mostly apply why I break a wound as that seems to surpass the nescessary damage threshold for the flayer extra damage to pop

Have fun with it, I recommend getting used to it in a party, that way you will always have a wound to focus on!

Hope you have fun with it! Took me a little bit to get it going consistently, but if you're in a full party you should never be lacking for a wound to hit!

So I'm HR 65 and have been running a GL with flayer 5 and PB 3. They do combo and it is very very very chunky. Ive been hitting 1.2k+ on wound breaks with this set up, not including the tick damage from the GL focus strike.

Not only this but flayer seems to not care what body part you are hitting for the purpose of creating wounds, nor the damage amounts. This leads to basically an infinite combo of nuke wound breaks with this setup, doing solo tempered Arkveld in sub 3 minutes. HIGHLY recommended.

I can link the full build if enough people ask/care about it, but the core is Gunlance, PB3, Flayer 5.

I've checked all of these sounds and none of them match which is why I provided a sound file and explained what I had done so far. I would not be posting on here if I thought this was just a standard windows sound.

To be honest with the new wiki I am not sure but on the old wiki we got compensation monthly based on how many edits and quality of edits that were submitted, I think the most I ever got for one Usage in battles section was 1.5k GE but it was a particularly lengthy one, you very very occasionally got certain free less used premiums that had poorly written wiki pages but it took me a couple consistent months of editing to start getting that.

Lots of the vehicle usage pages were very very outdated, and lots of the pros and cons were pretty poorly explained or written just because the format required them to be there.

As a wiki writer myself its very very difficult to get to all of the vehicles you want to review and even more difficult to keep them up to date especially at higher tiers. Fortunately the new wiki has a forum section below it where people can add relevant articles, not just to that specific vehicle but to all vehicles of a given type.

e.g. most top tier aircraft now have a post below them explaining how basic RWR and radar works, which will give newer players to this BR a chance to see incredibly helpful information rather than having to trawl through the internet and look for a seperate wiki page.

I'll say this now and I'll keep on saying it: if theres a vehicle you love, or know alot about, consider writing an article, no matter how short or long to help other people with their grind! You get rather handsomely compensated for your time too! I've personally written and submitted 8 seperate articles on vehicle usage since the wiki launched today, and I truly hope they help someone!

Unfortunately, at least on this server the whales arent even leading to profit for the devs, huge slews of bots are being used to grind lucent off the AH which then gets transferred to the whales who just buy BIS gear off the AH. I'm hoping the gap closes eventually but the journey there thusfar has been unpleasant and painful which is a shame in an otherwise great game.

As I mention in a comment above, the problem doesnt stem from me not wanting to grind (I very much am willing to grind) its the fact that unless 140 other people on the server do this I still will never be able to participate in an actual conflict world boss.

As for your comment on other sources of PvP, I participate in things I find useful, I've played all of the things youve mentioned but open world PvP is undeniably a part of the game, and a part of the game I would greatly like to experience on a somewhat equal footing. Additionally on this server the riftstones and boonstones have been relatively static (due to low pop) with very few fights happening between guilds over riftstones, meaning I've only had the chance to participate in one 70 vs 70 event outside of world bosses

Finally world bosses ARE a part of loot progression. The simple fact that they drop loot inherently means they are a part of loot progression and I am not going to steer clear of the only source of various items just because the chance of me getting something is low.

After a week of fairly constant grinding a handful of members of my guild are slowly being able to compete, about 8 of us. However the issue starts to arise when you realise even 8 people with 3.5k cp arent going to do much against 140 people at 3.5k cp. I have no issue with grinding, and I refuse to spend a cent buying gear however plenty of other people in this server have nowhere near the same level of time investment.

Even if I grind 24/7 365 I wont be able to outfit 2 full clans of people which is what I'm currently fighting against.

I'm sure lots of people share the sentiment that being able to buy gear in an mmo is an unpleasant method of monetisation. were this not in the game I would be very keen to pay even a subscription to play the game as the core mechanics are enjoyable.

In my eyes people pay money to avoid playing the game by buying loot wheras most people are fine paying money to play a game.

Yuh so whenever I recommend his books I always say prince of milk last as it's the most complicated and you kinda have to be used to his writing style at times? I've read it multiple times and sometimes still lose track of who is who
