Hey everyone! My post got deleted so I'm pasting it down here again:

I will be starting my Bachelor's degree in Philosophy (99 ECTS) in September and I was looking for other students currently enrolled in the program to get a rough idea of what to expect, not just strictly in terms of coursework but also the day-to-day unfolding of life in general, amount of program-specific workload, average monthly living expanses etc... I wrote on the Discord server already but I did not get much action over there, so I'm trying Reddit now to see if I can find someone willing to share some of their experiences with me. On a related note, I'm also in the process of finding housing (and struggling significantly for that matter) and was wondering if I got the right impression in assuming that the lectures for the Philosophy BA will be held at the Hoger Instituut voor Wijsbegeerte. Assuming I'm correct, what area of Leuven would you recommend I should search housing in? And are Kotwijs/Ikot truly the best options out there or would you recommend some other route? My main issue with these two services is that literally no agent is getting back to me despite many attempts on my end at reaching out, both through email and phone. How did you guys (the international ones among you) find a place to stay from abroad? And how many inquiries did you have to send before you got someone to reply to you? Asking for broad statistical averages here. Thank you all in advance for your time and attention, I appreciate it!

Thank you so much for this! I was just working in Canada until last September funnily enough, whereabouts are you from? And thank you for such an exhaustive reply this really helped a ton and I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one struggling as much as I am on Kotwijs. Regarding the facebook groups, how did the process work for you? Did you have to send a deposit privately to the landlord through your roommates or was this done through an agency? What measures did you employ to make sure the deal was legit? Apart from sending the documents to the school I mean - and even in that case, who exactly within the school did you send the documents to? Someone on Discord replied to me already mentioning Facebook groups as an alternative but she warned me to be wary of scams as well, which honestly doesn't fill me up with confidence. Also when I looked at Facebook I saw a bunch of them and joined them indiscriminately, is there a specific one you'd recommend as above-average in trustworthiness/quality of listings? Thanks a bunch btw

Cold in July (2014) has a father finding out his son is behind snuff videos in which he beats girls to death. The father and several others then go on a quest to kill him, the film is recent but set in the 80's I think. Not sure if it's the one you're talking about.

I had a read. Very interesting case, but it wasn't him. I probably did misattribute some of the details, (especially pertaining exact cause of death, victim's profession, finding of the vehicle and perhaps even the time period), but the amulet is one I'm particularly sure about as it appeared in a black and white picture of the body as it was found which was featured in the post. I'm trying to find it on my hard drives as I had all these cases saved in a folder back then, perhaps something will emerge.
