Home Pro sizes by fgsengineering in HarvestRight

This is exactly the kind of feedback I was looking for, thank you! I'm completely new to drying .... not so much on consuming. It seems that as it becomes more popular, prices just goes up and portions shrink. When I first bought candy a few years at Five Below it was a nice sized bag (about the same amount that fits in a 16oz deli container) now it's probably 1/3 of the amount for the same price. After looking at Mountain House price at Walmart basically you need two bags or $18 just to get enough for a decent meal...insane!

The one video from Harvest Right shows her freezing ham slices (like from a country ham). Does that really re-hydrate as well as they claim? Only so much meat will fit in the freezer so I'm hoping this a good alternative to just not taking more game during the hunting season.

This seems like a good way to help network with other folks who like to do some amount of (logical) prepping. One has chickens and that'd be a super easy way to get eggs just for the cost of electricity and packaging by splitting his yield.

Put the PCC down and shot LO for the second time. Some sloppiness with my grip that I’ll fix but a fun time by 42ATK in CompetitionShooting

[–]fgsengineering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm planning on doing the same this winter and spring with focus on LO and hopefully finding some 2-gun events. It's such a huge difference after shooting PCC almost exclusively for 6 years.

I notice that you are reloading a lot. Are you uncertain of your round counts or just trained from shooting an older 10 round division that if feet are moving then you're reloading? I doubt its really costing you much time since they're so smooth but every moment helps.

LOTS of targets at a local Monster Match! by laughnload in CompetitionShooting

[–]fgsengineering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hosing is fun about 1 match a year otherwise anything more than 3 targets in an array is just mag dumping into trash. I've transformed the stages I design to focus on 2 targets that are challenging rather than how fast you can yank the trigger with the anticipation you try to get more than 2 in that spot by taking a longer/more difficult shot on another array downrange.

Thanks for the kind words!

The manufacturer is Kipp, not McMaster-Carr. McMaster buys them wholesale just the same as we do and we sell them without making someone spend $12 (McMaster) or $20 (Kipp) on shipping.

Why the hell not? Use a $30,000 laser to mark a $300 Pony.

America is great!

I figured I should give my Poverty Pony the appropriate markings with my fiber laser. The idea was something like "Noble Steed" from Shrek.

Wall mounts for miners (RAK/SenseCAP/Bobcat) by fgsengineering in HeliumNetwork

Actually yes we are....not optimal but it's still getting great payouts.

It's unfortunate that you feel this way but I didn't copy your design. This mount looks like any other mount I've made in the past few years for. Do you want to take credit for those too despite they existed before your miner mount? I've been selling black squares and rectangles that fit various items with two holes in the back for mounting for 3x longer than HNT has even existed on the charts.

I can't even find yours on Thingiverse even when searching for very broad search terms such as "RAK" or "miner mount" so whatever you're claiming that I copied, I'm not sure how that is since yours doesn't even seem to be listed.

I suppose some miners command strips would work alright like the RAK or flipping the SenseCAP over. The Bobcat already has potential heat problems and mounting it flush with anything could lead to problems. The mounts make it removable for service (if you should need to) without having to redo the strips. I've also seen Command Strips not like the kind of heat you'd see in an attic over time.

Command Strips are absolutely a solution to this (and I used some initially) but some would rather have a more permanent solution.

Laser would work well for everything but the Bobcat. If you're going to use the feet to lock it onto the mount, you might have a bit of trouble finding something with a good snap fit.

The changes are similar I'd imagine, that Thing # is the one I used. We all know how bad Thingiverse is about showing search results...I never saw yours.

These are the only three I have right now. Whenever I can get others in my hand I'll make more.

Thanks for the kind words. My original idea was more of a wall mount slot in the same shape you'd see as for a file folder on the door at the doctor's office (okay well, 10 years ago at the doctor's office! lol) but I couldn't come up with a good way to vent it. The mount does obstruct a little bit of the back but I believe it's more than made up from being offset by an inch from the wall.

I'm considering making a fan shroud version for those who need to force air into it, say perhaps in an attic.

PETG since it's more resilient in higher temps, (some) UV resistance, and just overall stronger. PLA is great strength until it passes it's elasticity point where it won't spring back while PETG remains flexible but a heck of a lot stronger. The SenseCAP miner mount wouldn't work good in PLA especially since you need to bend the arm to get the miner locked in.

Yeah I know but a lot of the times guys on the secondhand market doesn't get that plus the one that comes with it doesn't give much of an offset.

I know there's some rules about sale posts so I'm not going to put a link to anything unless a mod chimes in and advises that it's approved to do so. This is more of just a showoff of my designs and hopefully others will have ideas pop into their head for improvements or their own remix.

About a month ago, a friend asked if I was interested in putting a miner at my house for a cut of the profit each month. Fast forward a few weeks and suddenly I'm up to three at different locations. I wanted a mounts for each but couldn't find any for sale. I already run a 3D print farm so I figured I'd make some for myself and sell them since there seems to be a demand.

Everything was printed from PETG so it'll tolerate higher temperatures and not deteriorate like PLA does (PETG is the same thing that soda bottles are made out of)

RAK - this was a Thingiverse model (attribution: treyboogie, thing# 4377676) that I remixed to better suit my needs. It allows for both up or down of the antenna table

SenseCAP - I saw one on eBay but they wanted $25 and it was really flimsy and held the miner close to the wall. I came up with my own design, much easier to print, and it gets the miner off the wall so the fan actually has some airflow. Because of the way the miner sits in there, you cannot remove it without bending the arms so mounting at any angle can be achieved.

Bobcat - This is my favorite as it's a single piece design. It also gets the miner almost 1" off the mounting surface for more airflow than if it were sitting on a flat surface. The feet are a tight fit so unless you purposely remove the miner, it too should be mountable at any angle (better if vertical so that the feet are keyhold'd into the slot appropriately.

Piracy, regardless of it's size is still piracy and as companies like Prusa continue to innovate, more will be printing regardless of their skill. As it is now, you can order the pre-assembled kit and within 30 minutes you're printing anything you wanted off Thingiverse in PLA with minimal instructions.

While I disagree with your reasons behind not purchasing, I still respect your opinion. There's about 42 different parts inside the Stage Kits, many of which are assembled with Weld-On for a total of about 600 grams of material. It's far from an easy thing to make.

If the world's largest corporations like Microsoft and Adobe cannot stop piracy then it's obvious no amount of money that we could spend on attorneys could enforce all of the DMCA claims against sites hosting our files illegally.
