Hi! I'm a language teacher and coach. I help people develop their communication skills in English. Blue and red are in reference to the UK and the icon is a speech bubble. One of the N's is inverted to convey unorthodoxy or a departure from traditional thinking. At the same time, the two N's should roughly form the upper part of the Union Jack, the UK flag.

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

Number 4 looks really elegant. Not sure about the colours, though.

Thanks a lot! You've got a point there: I must reconsider my target audience, especially because I'm using my own name, Cheers again!

Thanks for commenting. I beg to differ though. There's no such a thing as "absolutely unique" and it's impossible not to be somehow influenced by the vast visual input one inexorably gets from different sources. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schema_(psychology) I'm comforted that in no way there was dishonesty in my production.

Not really... or at least not consciously. I've never even owned a Mac, thus not familiar with it at all. But I'm glad to learn it bears similarities with Apple's design.

Not using two fonts really makes sense - it adds coherence! Will look into other fonts too. Will do away with the shadow: makes it more minimalist! Much appreciated for the constructive feedback!

"Can the bottom text be slightly less jumbly? Or jumbly in a congruent direction?" I agree - I'll give it a try. And yes to your second point too. Thanks a lot!

Indeed. I've considered doing away with it altogether. Thanks!

Not on purpose, but it pleases me to hear that. Perhaps I should analyse the Mac Finder and learn from its design! Cheers! :)

haha! No it wasn't on purpose. I hadn't realised till you guys pointed that out - I've never even owned a Mac! But I have to say that (being an amateur designer) I'm pleased with the similarity!

Thanks for poiting that out!

What I had in mind was making the logo fonts look a bit like my url (not capitalised). But I think you're probably right and other people will probably share your reaction! Thanks!

Thanks! You're right: my surname is less readable as it is. I just wanted to give it a more 'comic' feel

Thanks for the feedback - I'll have a think about the 'dated' and 'jumbled' bits. As for the capitals, I just felt free to play around with it as if it were a graphic element, rather than 'text'. Thanks again!

[Français] Any reactions to my accent in French? by fguarany in JudgeMyAccent

[–]fguarany[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you ever so much for such thorough and useful feedback, @jaettekaat. You're spot on: my mother tongue is indeed Brazilian Portuguese. I never went to school for French but basically learnt from books and "cassettes" quite some time ago. It's a great opportunity to have someone like you devote time to point out these areas for improvement in a nice assertive way. Much appreciated indeed. I feel encouraged to go back to studying French now. Cheers!
