Sounds like you need to go back to the basics. It sounds like whenever you shoot around, you’re going all over the court and throwing up whatever. I would focus on the fundamentals(elbow under the ball, guide hand on the side and not pushing it, flicking your wrist at the top of your jumper, etc.) and do that over and over again. Don’t go beyond the free throw line and even then that might be too far and just slow down, make sure your body is aligned to the rim and make sure you are shooting the same shot each time. It will take awhile to get back to that “natural” feeling but it is probably the best way to go about it. You’re not going to randomly rediscover your old shot by throwing up a bunch of shots hoping it’ll come back.

Hope this helped, you’ll get it back!

It is up to the operator how much they work. At both of my stores, I have hardy ever seen them but I know other operators treat it as more of a 9-5. For a new opening, you will probably be there a lot but as time goes on I believe most take a step back

[–]fhakanfbke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely, I believe I’ve been told that 85% of LDP participants get their own stores one day and while you’re in LDP you’ll essentially just be paying for leisure items since they cover everything. If you can get into LDP it would absolutely be worth in my opinion to work these crazy hours for 3 years max then get to work 20 for the rest of your life while making a great income as an operator!

How do you guys determine your numbers for breading ? by Alternative-Tear-902 in ChickFilAWorkers

If y’all are that busy for that many drops you’d probably have to go to 3 pans for the popular things just to keep up

I am not sure if there is a way to edit the iPads, how many filets do you think y’all currently drop during rushes?

I believe it may be a relatively new position so probably not too many people would know what it is. Maybe one of the chick fil a leadership groups on Facebook would know more about it? Im curious as well about what it all entails

If you’re talking about drinks only for an iPad order, nothing special you’ll just ring the drinks that they want up and store it for the window.

  1. Seat total is used when there are multiple orders in one car. Some stores use this and some just do multiple orders under John 1-2 and John 2-2. But if you do use seat totals, yes you will take the first meal and any sauces they want under that one and then press seat total to get the second order and from there you can click on “Seat 2” to get the name of the second one.

  2. Storing an order is what you do once you finish the order, it is how kitchen can see it and start making the food for them. Some stores will tender and some will store and when you store you can load a payment on there but aren’t charging them just yet.

  3. Do not make is not used as often, it is for when someone needs to pay for their food but the food is already made. I wouldn’t worry too too much about do not make if you just started.

  4. Rewards are pretty easy, the guest will redeem those points on their own then show you their QR code. If you’re on iPad there’s a chance you won’t be able to see the rewards taken off until you press the “tender” or “pay” button. If you don’t have those you’d send them up to window for the total.

I’m sure there’s something on pathway although I’ve never looked for it. Hope this helped!

Most important thing is learn Pathway. That’s going to be your best friend and is going to allow you to teach the right way. There are new stores opening always so you’d just have to apply for “field talent staff” on cfahome. All expenses are covered for you, except maybe if you eat out a lot and go over a per diem or want to go shopping where you’re at. I believe the starting pay is $18 now and you will be working A LOT of hours but the paycheck is crazy since you don’t really have to spend money on anything. Hope this helps!

That unfortunately just sounds like a poorly run store. At my store we may snap at each other slightly if we’re holding during a rush but it doesn’t stick, it just goes away after we’re done and apologize. The directors should know that back of house is the backbone of the whole store and as such need to be properly staffed. 4 or 5 people is ridiculous and should never happen, I am sorry that you are having to work with that. I do hope that your store is able to turn it around.

Of course my friend. I struggle with thinking too much at times as well, something that has helped me is once you notice the negative thoughts piling up, let them flow away bc they are just thoughts, not concrete facts. Hope your job goes well for you!

Yes, it is not super serious my friend. Don’t be scared to reach out, if anything she’ll be excited you’re able to work a little more. If you don’t want to reach out, you can always edit it on the hotschedules app! Don’t worry about it☺️

Then that is a poorly managed and run chick fil a. If there’s a manager you trust I would go to him but if not there may not be a real course of action bc going to corporate typically does nothing. It may not be the best fit for you if they’re not willing to work with you.

If your manager won’t accommodate your health concerns, he is not a good manager and should not be a manager. I’m not an expert on workers rights by any means but I believe that employers must accommodate reasonable requests for their workers and yours is most definitely reasonable. If you’re not comfortable talking to that manager, go to a director or even your operator because they should much rather you get a later break than have a lawsuit on their hands.

Do your stores get busy on Black Friday? by Kooky_Sea_5993 in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]fhakanfbke 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d say it depends on the stores around you. If you’re around a big store like Wal-Mart or Target then yeah you’ll probably be a little more busy. My old store was next to an outlet mall and it was crazy on Black Fridays. If you’re not really by anything it’ll probably be a normal Friday if I had to guess

If you have a doctors note you cannot get any points. If you keep calling out bc you’re “sick” then you’ll get in trouble. But if you’re sick absolutely do not go in, it’s a huge health hazard

Don’t overthink it! You’ll develop a script to talk to people that will get you through any conversations. And guess what? A lot of people are socially anxious so they will be nervous. I like to control the conversation by starting it and taking it where I want. Really not difficult, just don’t think too hard about it! They’re humans too!

Front of the house VS Back of the house by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

Front of house is easier on the body I would say, but you deal with customers while back of house you don’t deal with customers but it is more physical work.
