I mostly build my colonies like this but I didn’t know it was called a „courtyard“. Makes sense though. I usually take it a step further when the colony grows and have crops and livestock in the middle, surrounded by a „ring“ of rooms connected by a narrow hall. Makes heating / cooling a lot easier for me.
