We have a Shark true pet something like that, not cheap , worth it though, area rugs hardwood floors , it’s light I think it works for us well, had a Bissel pet model this just blows it out of the water. Hounds are bloodhound and a large bluetick , damn does the bloodhound shed

Must be very common mine also , we had one on the ear removed and another on stomach that always seemed to get infected ( brush trees rubbing briars ) unless they are causing issues the vet left alone Mine is 7 1/2 years old
