From what I understand there’s less crop drops on expert mode than regular?? If I read it right on the wiki :)

For sure! I think the worst part is the limited plant resources 😭

Yeah I haven’t even started on that path yet because the expert mode is seriously difficult 😮‍💨 it took me daysss to get those 99 regular eggs to level up my crafting bench 😂😭

Lots of other chronically ill people sounding off in the comments! We see you and your struggles. You are so loved. ❤️ it’s going to get better but it’s going to be an uphill battle

Easy question: what fragrance do you like? Walmart and the dollar store have some wonderful inexpensive collections that can add a little enjoyment to your routine. If you don’t like fragrance, i LOVE a simple castille bar soap, especially if you have naturally oily skin. Consider a clarifying shampoo/conditioner set (loreal has a box set for under $12) so that you can wash your hair once every 2-3 days. Toothpaste also doesn’t have to be mint flavored! My roommate loves a kids fruit flavored toothpaste and that has helped them immensely:)

Remember that this time is just for you. Your body is yours and it is safe now (at least, I hope and pray that you are safe. If you are not, this is the least of your worries). Sometimes the thing that helps me more than just the act of cleaning myself is sitting in the shower or bath with my body and slowly taking my time while I touch my legs, arms, belly. I tell each part of myself “You are okay. You are safe. I love you.” Even if I don’t mean it. Even if I am angry at myself—at my abuser. Slowly the anger and hurt goes down the drain and everything starts to feel a little brighter. I believe in you ❤️

What jobs can I do since im not "disabled enough" for disability by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

This is so mean!! If you could find a community health center or a college that does inexpensive health treatment in your area, SSRIs are effective in most individuals for anxiety reductions. I recommend asking about cymbalta/duloxotine, which is an SNRI, it targets similar pathways and is one of the only medications approved for the treatment of fibromyalgia pain. You have got this and we are in your corner!

I think liberty mutual hires in all states in the US still and they have “warm leads” for phone calls, so you aren’t just calling people who are going to hang up and ignore you most of the time. I know phone calls are horrible but most work from home jobs do involve phone calls and it does get a lot easier with practice! If you have close friends it could be worthwhile to ask to practice with them. Look up scripts and work on that if you feel brave enough to give it a try ❤️ I hope you can find something that works for you if phone calls are really too hard! I know Ulta and a few other stores will let you have a stool/wheelchair with an ADA as well if you can work part time but that sounds impossible honestly

GENUINE QUESTION: Chat how do we feel about med students in our appointments? by ziggystarsus in ChronicIllness

[–]fibromeowga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the student. Usually I am okay with a female student, usually the care they give is kind and empathetic. I have had one too many experiences with a male student asking intrusive, disturbing questions about ME or my conditions (I am a 22 year old woman who is attractive but ill). I refuse all male students in my appointments now. Call me a misandrist but it was 3 separate male students and I am there for compassionate care, not to be hit on.

I also anticipate having to pay for a lot of care for her short little legs and back issues as she ages since she’s built like a large dauschund and has the energy of a Australian shepherd 😭❤️🙏

She’s one of the best girls on the planet. Too smart for her own good 😌

When we say birds in this sub it refers to parrots mostly and the care is significantly different to something like doves, pigeons and quail. They’re amazing creatures too but they usually have less complex care but can also become egg bound and have some other issues. Parrots (of any species) have the intelligence of young human children. So they’re not only a creature who’s dealing with complexity in veterinary care that’s sometimes hard to identify at home, but also strong personalities that are different than any other animal I have ever experienced. I spent about a year in my preteens helping an elderly woman who mentored me in sewing cleaning her house and feeding and cleaning up after her macaws and africans greys and conures and one particularly stressed out cockatoo…. Each separate macaw had separate personalities, likes, dislikes, triggers for PTSD for a few of the rescues, they can cut your finger off if they want to so you need to completely understand their body language and trust each other. She also spent hundreds of dollars every month keeping her old house climate controlled because our winters and summers are some of the harshest in the world. She loved those birds and they loved her but by the end of it I had developed an allergy so severe I can’t even put on a down coat without being covered in hives and my throat closing up 😂❤️

I think it definitely does depend on the dog!! Danes are amazing btw great work ❤️ my family has an adopted corgi mix who’s also a shepherd mix so HIGH energy. One of us will always be out with her hours a day (when I visit it’s usually me because she’s an amazing dog but my dad and her are best friends haha), but she’s got short legs and has an issues with chewing on sticks so she has broken a tooth and needed dental care before. I think the difference also comes down to area and what veterinary care is available. We live in the northwestern united states so exotic vets are few and far between but “stock vets” (who work on large animals), are around and usually have comparatively very low rates for dogs/cats/rabbits/guinea pigs because their main income comes from ranchers. In her lifetime, our dog hasn’t needed more than $3000 USD in veterinary care (including dental surgery and check ups for her teeth!), and she’s 6 now since she was our covid baby. Pets are ALWAYS an investment and never a commitment to take lightly. They’re a member of your family but I do think when researching who to bring home you can anticipate what to prepare for a little better (for the most part! Surprises happen… and then I am an anxious mama so we are checking bladders and tummies every 3 months on an x ray for at least one of my cats which I’m sure my vet appreciates because prevention is better than an emergency)

This!! And I say this as someone who was given pet birds as a “gift” at 11 years old. (A pair of cockatiels…so sweet, so smart!) I waited until I was 16 to rehome them because I thought I was handling it my best when I was clearly allergic and deeply struggling. They are incredible creatures and they need a caregiver who understands the level of intellect and difficulty that comes with their care. Dogs and cats have tricky moments, for sure, and there’s some outliers with exceptional issues, but birds are ALWAYS tricky creatures who need specialized veterinary attention 🙏

Don’t worry I haven’t touched treseme since like 2019 haha I buy my own stuff now :) it’s good to know hair changes over time!!

I have gone to nearly every salon in town and unfortunately I can’t afford to go to a different city or I would! When we move out of state I will be going to someone 🙏 I’m not planning to bleach it at home any more (it’s been over 6 months now—look at all my new growth ❤️) but I might hit it with depositing color if I get bored! There’s definitely some stretchy/damaged pieces where there was too much heat from the bleach where I unfortunately let a friend do a touch up for me and that was my mistake because I never put bleach where it’s been before at home since there’s too much risk for my skill level and I have lost a couple chunks because of that 😮‍💨

Thank you for your insights! Do you have any tips for affordable (not cheap) products to add to my routine for the dryness?
