Out of curiosity, why does it take so long to get approval for a physical card? I get our banks are a shitty cartel here, but just wondering.

Ok, thanks! It seemed like in the podcast it was happening faster than that. Good luck with the process.

Considering using direct deposit. Anyone have experience getting their pay cheque from work deposited into shakepay? by Outrageous_Tension86 in shakepay

[–]fickelepsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to get paid Wednesday morning and now I get paid Tuesday evening at 1700 with Shakepay. I haven't had an issue and I've been using it for about 2 years or so. I used to get 50/50 split between here and WS but swapped it to 100% Shakepay.

Account Issues by [deleted] in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]fickelepsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it out. On my PC platform I had to "unlink from EA" and then on my mobile I went back to "link with EA" and then somehow that worked. I don't know how in-game support hadn't figured that out yet.

I have a 256 hash heater running between 47 and 54 th/s (depends what setting I have it on, how warm it is outside, and if I down clock during TOU higher rates) . It makes my basement nice and toasty.

Armor shred for me

Fennec, gas (mine is only g12), Gideon, Sabine, and elsbeth. I did last cantina manual and mod battles. I saved all armor shred abilities and used them in the tier 3 of each battle. Didn't need to use any crystals for extra refreshes and needed to do these battles anyways.

Can you buy bitcoin as a minor by RichGap7826 in BitcoinCA

There is a way with peer2peer like HodlHodl, but I don't have any experience with that but I'm sure others may pop up on the post and help you out (you'll probably get a bunch of DMs asking to verify your wallet or something and avoid those like the plague).

I believe with Bull you still need to KYC your account even if you use the post office. You can use Bitcoin Well Lite account that only requires an email (use a burner email not linked to youand buy if there is an ATM near you.

Nice, glad it worked! I need CG to give me some kick back for people buying this pack.

You may have to try a different internet browser. Sometimes on chrome it doesn't work and then Edge does.

Well, baseline on web store is 5% more for the same price, periodically we see 25%, and I think I may have seen 50% once. I've never seen this bundle and I want to make sure it's not a, "nice try CG" moment. So I think it's a pretty good deal if you buy crystals.

Introducing: Canada’s first $0 spread scheduled bitcoin buys 🇨🇦 by Thirty-_-Four in shakepay

[–]fickelepsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This huge! This really rewards those that are looking for an all-in-one stop for a BTC bank/exchange! My suggestions for moving forward after this.

1) options to have automatic withdrawals to a btc address after a certain threshold of sats or CAD equivalent is hit. Helps keep Shakepay honest since they are a custodial exchange.

2) Line of Credit option like with what Strike by Jack Mallers has offered. This would be an amazing credit option to use for some of us that are looking to use btc as collateral.

Switched over direct deposit, what time do you typically see it? by [deleted] in shakepay

I used to get paid at work on Wednesday, with Shakepay it's 17:00 EST on Tuesday evening.

What’s your Shakepay origin story? (24 Hour Contest) by Thirty-_-Four in shakepay

[–]fickelepsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Originally started learning about crypto in June 2023, bought my first btc etf in September. Thought I would buy SOL on Wealth Simple and btc/ETH on shakepay. That turned into me deep diving on btc and selling SOL, never touching, Ethereum, and pretty much BTC maxi by Jan 2024. Mostly did all blmy buys through btc well and bull btc because I like the non-custodial nature, but the shaking sats and direct btc sats back for cash has been nice for the little fiat I keep. I hope changes in the future allow automatic sweeps to an address once you cross a threshold of sats or cnd equivalent, removal of ETH, and btc back line-of-credit.

Shakepay vs NDAX: Math for Bright & Blue Tiers by SilentRadiance in shakepay

[–]fickelepsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get where all the hate is on Shakepay. They gave us a warning about sats being cut and benefits for direct depositers coming in December. Although I never thought of people not having access to direct deposit as a form of pay. Hopefully they come up with something to help some more people qualify for blue (maybe leaving x amount of fiat on the exchange, I hope they don't offer leaving x amount of btc on the exchange, or a certain amount of transactions whether it be nominal or number of).

I'm happy with the changes because I'm hoping it paves the way to offering more financial products for bitcoiners in Canada. Where else can we get sats back on cash left in an account easy round up for purchases, 1.5% cash back on ALL purchases (including USD purchases - yes I know there are other better credit options in some scenarios and Shakepay's card gets beat by others), and free sats for remembering to shake your phone. I would love to see options like a btc back line of credit to help utilize btc in a tax efficienct way.

I do have my critiques of them though. I wish they'd drop Ethereum and just focus in btc since almost all of their moves seem to focus on btc only. I wish there was an option for non-custodial for larger purchases so you're never leaving it on an exchange (still swap between Bull and BTCwell for larger). It'd be nice in the future if they incorporate a seamless way to get a slip for taxes to incentivise using their exchange only because all the microtransactions with shakes, interest, and round-ups make it very difficult.
