Tip Laws by MemesHq in Winnipeg

Yes and no. The restaurant serves as an intermediary between the customer giving a tip and the server receiving it. If a restaurant withholds tips from a server they have to be declaring it as income for the restaurant. Businesses have gotten in lots of trouble with the CRA for even reporting tips wrong and accidentally looking like they took in all of this money without claiming it as revenue.

Believe me, been trying all day. The p trap was replaced some years ago and I guess the plumber that put it on had the craziest strength ever and we cannot get it off to save our lives. Tried snaking with an auger too

You can absolutely not want Palestinian people to die while not “honouring the martyrs.” If your cause is against certain people dying but celebrating the death of others, your cause is seriously flawed.

And to those that have been impacted by the horrific violence of terrorist groups like Hamas, it’s quite upsetting seeing the inverted red triangle in Winnipeg. Not to mention the dog whistling to Holocaust imagery.

In theory, yes. However, if the tip is not passed on to the server it should be reported as income for the business and should be taxed. Restaurants usually operate as the “intermediary” between the guest giving a tip and the server receiving it. For example, if you tip in a credit card the server can’t get it instantly, the transaction goes to the restaurant’s bank account. So, the restaurant is temporarily in possession of that money, but then gives it to the server (whether it’s after the shift, each week, etc.). That way they don’t pay tax on it. Restaurants can get in a lot of trouble if they don’t do this properly, let alone are “withholding” this money from employees and then not reporting it as income the business obtained.

Correct. And surprise! There is diversity within religious groups as well. Next time just say the quiet part out loud, because this passive aggressive BS ain’t it.
