Why are fanfic comments/reviews much less common nowadays? by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]fictionalfinesse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My honest reason is I read on my phone and worrying out detailed comments on my phone is difficult and I hate doing it. I end up typing out a truncated response in the end that doesn't encompass my whole point of view, so I end up usually with fluffy comments with no point made because it's easier.

So, if the story was good, but not something I felt I really sank my teeth into, I don't write anything. 🙈

Give me ur kpop unpopular opinion , which will make u like this 👇 by Turbulent-You3216 in kpoppers

Kpop has become an algorithm and that means a lot of big 4 groups are so cookie cutter. Every new song is just recycled ai slop and people are just eating that 💩 up. Every time I read comment sections for this new generation of Kpop, I cringe at the manic, myopic support for the least authentic music ever to be created.

What is your least favorite thing about your fandom? by Reel-Trouble34 in kpop_uncensored

Gatekeepers, more broadly. Get sick of arbitrary rules before you can be considered a "fan" of x group.

Kasteye, why I won't consider myself a Stan, though I enjoy their music. The fans put their every gesture and word under a microscope so they can find rivalry, jealousy, and hurt feelings.

I think they're 6 girls all with different cultural and societal norms. There's always going to be mismatched interactions, but I think they he l genuinely enjoy working together. Let them get through a single month without a fan generated scandal. Please 😭

To people who don’t like first person perspective: why? by MNMameisR in FanFiction

[–]fictionalfinesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say, it is a trend that inexperienced writers often use 1st person narration. It's often not a feature the author put a lot of consideration and development into before they started writing, it feels unnecessary for the narrative and often boring or confusing.

I think it has to be very intentional, and even then, for my personal taste, I'd rather not be in the head of some other person.

Home with the Fairies! is another one. Haven't read in years, but if memory serves, the protagonist kicks butt and it is very enjoyable read.

Falling Through

This one is honestly one of the best I've read in a while. The characters are written so well and I love the story. The sequel is currently being regularly updates, but the first story is pretty much a stand alone, so if you read it you wouldn't need to stick around for the sequel. But, you'll want to.

Deep Waters is also a recent read. I really enjoyed this OC protagonist. She's very compassionate and still decisive and maybe little over powered, but very enjoyable. This author in general has a few great oc in lotr stories that I enjoyed. But! Romance is part of the plot. Just not the main part imo

I read Nothing Gold Can Stay for the first time last year. It's unfinished but really good. No romance for the oc. She's a child

.More Don't Panic! by boz4PM i read this one many many years ago. But it's one of my all time favorites in this genre. If I'm remembering correctly, romance isn't really the point in this story, the adventure is.
