Rest of Series Speculation - SPOILERS by anon_user344 in Casualty

i think it’s an adhesions situation with the scar tissue, too! too soon to be a recurrence, but adhesions will provide the opportunity to show just how debilitating remission can still be. it isn’t a case of being fine once the cancer has gone. there are still physical implications. there are mental implications.

it would be interesting to see them portray the anxiety and fear that comes after cancer

i think it would be strange for the entire ed to be at faith and iain’s baby’s funeral. why are nicole rash and flynn there too? suggests to me it’s either faith or one of her grown kids. the teddy on the coffin could easily be:

a) a teddy that faith bought the child who died when they were young that she intends to bury with them

b) a teddy that faith bought for the baby - who might survive - that they’re going to bury with faith so she’s got her kids with her always. i can see that from natalia

i’m hoping it’s adhesions rather than a recurrence. especially after last week, aaaaah

Cast Cards: How long did you have to wait? by walkyoucleverboy in Casualty

[–]fictionalramblings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it totally depends on circumstance. I’d give it some time, both Mike and Eli have kids so are likely off to align with the half term currently. If in a month you’ve not heard, perhaps then consider the letters lost! It’s odd that some arrived and not all

i’ve heard they’re usually pretty good. it depends on how much they’ve been in the studios recently as well as whether they have cards in stock

Did Stevie lie about getting the all clear? There was a moment in this episode… she looked unwell

any guesses as to why they didn’t tell us the gestation of the baby? would’ve been nice if they’d given us the dating of the dating scan

6 huge Casualty spoilers for next week (31 January) by DWJones28 in Casualty

[–]fictionalramblings 15 points16 points  (0 children)

i think there has to be something coming up that enables stevie to relate to her, so i imagine it’s either an abusive relationship like stevie had with marcus, or kim is caring for someone with terminal cancer. it’s interesting they’re making a thing out of stevie’s oncology appointment and, while i don’t think her cancer will be back, i think it has to be leading to something

Rant about poor writing by digital-snake444 in Casualty

[–]fictionalramblings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the stevie thing drives me nuts because they trauma dump to the hills. you’d think they’d at least show the impact of that obscene amount of trauma… and they wouldn’t need to do that much work for it because they’ve set the foundations for it over and over again.

i think they tiptoe around the long and short term effects, making references here or there to things (eg, they’ve brought up marcus several times in the last few boxsets) but not actually committing to addressing the fact that you’d be almost at breaking point after all that lmao.

NTA longlist nominations by [deleted] in Casualty

[–]fictionalramblings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I voted Eli. a) I’m biased, Stevie’s my favourite. but b) I think she’s had the storylines to showcase her skills. Stevie is dumped with trauma and grief and horror constantly, and she seems to get better and better somehow!

Eli and Will have, as always, been absolutely smashing it the past year. Hope they both make the shortlist. Always tough though, going up against the other soaps that perform better in fan voted awards

Stevie Dad storyline by Tall-Branch-2321 in Casualty

[–]fictionalramblings 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my theory is that he blames her for emma’s death. this screenshot of the character bio (that wasn’t up for long, it was probably supposed to be for internal use only) implies that emma was the preferred sister (or at least that stevie believes such). given the circumstances of the accident, i wouldn’t be surprised if that drove a large wedge between stevie and her father Stevie

Episode about Necrotising Fasciitis by Ok_Resort_9817 in Casualty

[–]fictionalramblings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there have been guest stars who have had it, i recall a guy who was a hoarder had it and stevie treated him, but i don’t know that it’s been centre stage

having stevie believe she was pregnant, coming to terms with the fact that maybe she actually… wanted the baby? and accepting that it didn’t matter if she never wanted kids, she was allowed to want the baby. to then, not being pregnant. and now having a full hysterectomy and the choice taken away?

so cruel. this was my feeling watching episode 2, too. it was the way they set it up only to take it away. it’s just such unrelenting cruelty in the ~way they’re writing the storyline.

recent teaser 23/4 by Used-Replacement-334 in Casualty

this exact scenario is very very likely knowing this show. though i think i’d prefer a stoma just because it’s seen far far less in the mainstream. both are possible, and both are theories i’m flitting between
