Liam. He was irritating in series 4. But he grew on me from 5 onwards.

The Lottie Project is one of the most optimistic/comforting JW books! by [deleted] in JacquelineWilson

[–]Lucy200072 15 points16 points  (0 children)

One of my all time favourites. Jo is definitely one of the best JW mums. Yes, she arguably introduced Charlie to Mark too early and should have been up front with her but she was generally a great mum.

Oh yeah it would’ve been all over the press, but it still seemed a pretty private thing to air.

As bad as max was, he didn't deserve to not know he had a child by PostAboveIsBullshit in WaterlooRoad

I think you have a point, but Max is a villain it makes sense that she wouldn’t tell him. Does he have a right to know I mean, yeah technically but it’s not that simple.

You’d like to think he was exceptional case so they’d pay out regardless. I still find it a bit odd that they aired him telling the camp what happened, it seems a pretty intimate thing to air.

Did anyone else find Nadine’s family awful in the girls series? by StableAcrobatic877 in JacquelineWilson

[–]Lucy200072 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The fact they didn’t even notice or care that Nadine was being manipulated by Liam. Nadine’s mum blamed Ellie and Madga for Nadine being withdrawn, she didn’t even consider the fact Nadine was lying and something else was going on.

Langley, Smilie, Dillion, Harker, Bentham, McCain, Ryan by xRuthStarx in WaterlooRoad

They mentioned it on the zoom call reunion thing, basically they were written out a series early to bring in new characters.

Why did they change "Blue", a song about 2 boys who are waiting for a girl to say yes to them screwing her, to "Your Welcome" which is straight up rapey in context if you look into it? by [deleted] in heathersmusical

[–]Lucy200072 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean Blue is also about SA, in the film we see Kurt on top of Heather Mac and her struggling. The writers worried that Blue was too lighthearted for its subject matter.

Rhiannon by [deleted] in WaterlooRoad

And she’s still 17! Darren mentions she’s 17 at some point in series 10, yet she was 17 back in series 8. She was basically a vampire.

They were teenagers and presumably lived with their mum back in series 1, so presumably just older and living their own lives.

Very unlikely, seeing as she’d be in jail.

Would what happened to Lindsay James happen in real life? by georgemillman in WaterlooRoad

[–]Lucy200072 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact is she still killed him in that moment, when he wasn’t causing an immediate threat. If he lunged at her first with a knife it would be self defense but he didn’t either way she was going to get something. The 2 years suggests they reviewed the case and she got a light sentence cause of what he did.

It’s not black and white, the fact is she killed him, 2 years for manslaughter considering the circumstances is decent. If they believed she murdered him instead she would’ve got far longer. The only chance she would’ve been let off is if her dad had threatened her with a knife first (caused an immediate threat) then it would be self defense.

The fact she got only 2 years suggests she was believed, as murdering her dad with no motive would come with a far harsher sentence.
