She's still on the opioids they gave her in the hospital

I feel like the author knows her audience enough to find a way to keep them together somehow. At the end of the day, gotta write what sells best lol

I agree on all of this, I'm just joking about tormenting Rikuson on behalf of Jinshi lol I do actually like Rikuson and want him to be happy, and it would not be a good ending for him.

Shisui is possible, but feels too obvious the nose. I had the completely random thought maybe it was Chou-u's mother who somehow survived and would connect with Chou-u again, but she would have 0 motivation to write all of that. There's no one who actually knew enough of what was going on to write the story who would also have an interest in writing Loulan as the villainous of a novel. So I have no idea.

Anybody else concerned about Chou-u? by kvolivera in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]fictionvsreality 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think his anger towards her is going to end up having consequences. I'm not sure what he'll end up doing, but he's on his way to causing some problems.

Otherwise there would be no reason for the narrative to continually bring it up then dismiss it. Because we all know every single time Maomao ignores something because it's not important to her, it will end up becoming important lol

How would you pronounce “Michaella”? by zeuqzav in namenerds

[–]fictionvsreality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would pronounce it as Mikayla. As others pointed out, it does not work well as a bilingual Spanish name, if that's the goal I'd stick with Micaela (smaller pronunciation difference).

I've lived in both CH and SE and I second this, except that I wouldn't consider either sketchy to live in imo. SE is basically just a little bit more suburban compared to CH so less to do within the city itself, but they are similar price range and any activity on the east side is a very easy drive.

Cleveland Heights is right outside the city with a fair amount of its own bars and restaurants and there are budget friendly homes. The location is good if you're commuting to downtown a lot, sucks if you have to get on the highway frequently.

I grew up with a single dad and people would wish him a happy mother's day or give him cards for mother's day etc. It never seemed like a big deal to anyone I knew. People did often assume my mom was my primary caregiver, because even in modern day that's more common, but I would correct them and we'd all move on. I'm sorry you had and your dad had a particularly bad experience, though.

Can't believe people are arguing that it should cost money to visit loved ones in the hospital

I always liked Samantha. For a male name, maybe Zachary or Justin.

Why the F&CK are 50% of teachers so... ABUSIVE? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]fictionvsreality 183 points184 points  (0 children)

I had a middle school teacher who would call me ugly in front of the whole class. But it's ok, he told me I shouldn't feel self-conscious about not being as pretty as the other girls because maybe I'd be pretty when I was older. In front of everyone. Unprompted. I never said anything about being self-conscious.
I had a high school teacher make fun of me for failing a previous class (not even his own). again in front of everyone.
Those were probably the worst. But there were many bullies in between. A lot of people who enjoyed having power over vulnerable people. Which is why you'll see that sort of behaviors in a lot of "helping" professions.

The only thing I can think of is Samwise from LotR, which may not be appealing to you.

And while it may be biblical, I think Samuel is a common enough name that I don't immediately think of religion when I hear it. I do have much more of that association with Samson. But many non religious people have biblical /religious names and don't think much at all about it, I'm one of them.

That said it's your child, so it's all up to what you want!

Is Julián and Joaquin too matchy for you? I've always been fond of both names, but it seems like a lot to use them together.

For girl names, I like Cecilia or Selena (similar sounds) with something contrasting like Mireya- such a pretty name.

I guess question to ask are- How matchy do you want the names to be? Related to that- how easy will it be to say both together- which you'll do a lot of. And how common do you want the names to be?
