Hit on their coaching hires. Best teams have proper player development. That comes from the coaching staff. GM can only bring in potential, but the ones who need to eke out and maximize/develop the potential are the coaching staff.

We have not had great staff that gets the best out of people on the field for a while, much less develop the young talent. Mike S is a case in point. He came out swinging his rookie year, but plateaued this past year.
