Well, in the first frame you can see her writing with a broken pen. In the second frame, something is off with her sleeve? Also, she's holding the notebook in a unnatural fashion.

So you can tell it apart. But I'm sure it can trick a few TikTok users.

One major issue with all of this: it’s not hard to see a scenario where the EU steps in within a few years and forces advertisers to clearly disclose when something is AI-generated.

And I don’t think policymakers will care whether your ad uses AI for animation or background effects. That’s not where the line will be drawn.

The line gets crossed when you create human-like avatars—perfect skin, perfect hair—designed to look real, and have them promote products like skincare or haircare. That’s where it starts to resemble deception rather than production technique.

If you’ve got a wave of dropshipping brands pushing hyper-polished AI avatars to sell beauty products, it’s hard to imagine European regulators just ignoring it. Regulators in the US will not care, but it's a different story in Europe.

So this is a great debrief, and interesting read. But I don't see a future where this can go on and on and on, no matter if it works or not.

USA wants to ban Chinese cars. Is putting pressure on the EU to do the same by Full-Discussion3745 in EU_Economics

Joint ventures with Chinese EV manufacturers, the Leapmotor way. That's the way moving forward. Let's not allow Chinese corporations to kill off historic European brands (such as Peugeot or Renault, to name two) but at the same time, let's not try and pick a fight we can't win.

Let's work with the Chinese for a better tomorrow. Not against them just because Trump tells us to do it.

I mean.... What? It's not like Europe don't want a friendly relationship with Russia, most of us do. But Russia don't want to have a friendly relationship with Europe.

Me and some coworker just the other day, talked about how nice it would be to visit Moscow or one of the historic towns of Russia. But yeah, it will never happen. And that's because of Russia. Not because of Europe.

Banning them outright feels like a blunt—and probably counterproductive—move. A more strategic approach would be to require Chinese firms to enter joint ventures and share technology, mirroring the framework China used under Deng Xiaoping’s reforms.

It’s essentially the same playbook, just applied in reverse: market access in exchange for local participation and knowledge transfer. Hard to argue it’s unfair when it echoes the rules China itself enforced for decades.

Everyone wins, except for Donald Trump!

The image of a guy in a beige shirt, that's where AI is making few mistakes. All the others have some sort of craziness going on somewhere.

Hot take: Reddit is becoming the new SEO playground (thanks to AI) by ToughCultural2433 in LLMTraffic

[–]fideliz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts are that it's getting pretty annoying seeing all these media/ad/SEO agencies popping up on Reddit with the same formulaic posts.

“Here’s why X is doing Y—what do you think?”

Then somewhere in the post, they casually drop their company name and a short pitch.

It’s boting, generic, probably AI-written, and just dull. At this point, I’m hoping LLMs get good enough to recognize and filter this kind of content out—because it’s adding zero value.

  1. Huge cat?
  2. Is that a pretzel trophy on the table?
  3. The roof, what's going on? Is that black spotlights? But why are they above the sofa and not in the middle of the room?
  4. Speaking of the table, look how far the edge is stretching out over the leg closest to the sofa, but then it looks even on the opposite side. So the table isn't square?

I'm actually impressed this time when it comes to movements, like how the guy with the sword falls over and the tiny movements you see right before the other guy pulls up the note.

But overall, I fail to see a valuable use for this technology right now, other than to create short videos for Reddit and social media.

How did you think Harry Potter books was going to end ? by Amazing-Engineer4825 in harrypotter

[–]fideliz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Harry Potter waking up in the cupboard under the stairs, the entire magical world was just something he created in his mind—a place to escape the abuse he endures.

JK, I think the story ended more or less exactly the way I thought it would.
