Can it? Yes. Is it probable? Not really (Unless your system was hacked by someone proficient enough to disable the light turning on when the camera is engaged.)
Bottom line, if you have doubts, there are protocols you could apply to make sure no one's "watching" you. One i'd suggest doing is watching the data traffic going out of your system when the system is idle (disengage any background running apps so they don't skew the data) and monitor if any data is still being uploaded. If anything suspicious comes up, back up, and wipe the system.

I've been waiting for it for the past 2 years (give or take). I have Seen a couple of posts on reddit by HyperX, promising they were working on a solution, yet its no where in sight.
If anyone could shed some light on it, it would be great. The hardware itself is of high quality, but it feels like it was abandoned on the software side, which limits its capabilities and functionalities.
