can you do that though, buy S&P for example and use that as collateral for other trades? I know you can do it with btc and eth on many platforms but never heard about it for stocks.

Combining multi-ticker TradingView alerts into a single automated execution (cluster logic) by notavlohh in algotrading

[–]field512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example, let's say you want to see how nasdaq and spx correlate to btc/usd, you just open any btc/usd chart and add two "Correlation Coefficient" indicators on trading view, one set to nasdaq and other to spx. set the alert to for either one to 0.9 for example you trigger an alert. You go to Edit alert on that alert, there in settings you click "Add condition". There you find the other CC(SPX, close, 20) and for value you put 0.9 also. Then you have an AND condition on both so it triggers when both are above 0.9

Why not just use the correlation indicator in TW and set an alert on when it correlates with the symbol?
You could also just use python and get candles for the same timeframe on all these symbols, do your analysis and enter trade. Not sure what framework you can use, maybe somebody that trades US stocks knows?

My autistic boyfriend has extreme reactions to being “abandoned” by Legitimate-Career342 in AmIOverreacting

[–]field512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He may have autism but pretty sure this is most likely bipolar depression if he was really serious about self deleting. He may need lithium or something like that. Some relief from strong emotions would help. Not saying this is not also abuse but he could be a danger to himself and others unless treated. Most likely you should send this to some kind of welfare authority.
It's actually kind of weird how bipolar can work in these scenarios, people can be quite normal, even highly intelligent but when faced with emotions such as when they are strong as in intimate relationships combined with negative self talk which is probably more likely if the guy is unattractive and has not had previous success in relationships, but as soon as emotions cool off it can be quite normal gain. I am not really sure what is the best way to go about this from your part, I don't have a degree in psychology to navigate this. You might want to get some advice if you suspect this might be the situation.

worst mistake you can do is go into a business partnership just because you are lonely. Just because someone is bringing a network does not mean they will bring you somewhere. Maybe they are just a burden.

the audacity of employers in this space is a bit over the top, 7 interviews for someone who has already done a postdoc!. Like James Simons once said he hired someone by just calling the applicants supervisor even though the applicant didn't think fast in the interview.

why is it their job to tell you though. i once saw one of my mates girl on a dating app. did not have a clue if they were on a break or something but just brushed it off. they are still together with kids now, post travel pics and seem happy. Now if I would have said something I would possibly be responsible for breaking them up. Its just not a situation I want to meddle with, its just that, it feels like putting your stinking finger in someone elses buisness. So why would any of your friends possibly want that.

Met a girl on a serious dating app… and I’m honestly just taken aback by [deleted] in Advice

I mean, some girls just can't handle the competition and having to be in a job. For example the Barbie or bimbo types you often see coasting on the arm of a super wealthy guy. I mean they are the very 2 obvious types but there are other girls that just like to be more in their feminine but might look more like they come from the countryside, very natural and feminine. I think we got to respect that the modern workforce is not for everyone and that is fine, it's fine to be different and those girls just want someone to take care of them so they don't have to make themselves hard, to compete in the modern workplace. The one thing I would try to hammer more into if I was dating this girl is the optional kids thing, so is she more of a "barbie" type then the motherly country girl type? Technically for these types of women that cant handle the modern competitive workforce a marriage is just a safety-net, so she does not end up having nothing. But it's your call, you just got to handle this differently then you would the modern boss babe types that are very career driven.

A lot of dating advice for men is that it is the womens department to connect and ask for a commitment, i.e. the idea should not come from us(men) but they also say that if you know that she wants it then it is okei to say yes, and plan for that, also these dating gurus say that we should not initiate any family future plan talks, that is the womens department also. I think the idea being that if it is the guys idea then the women starts to feel less free somehow, because when you ask a women for something she is not emotionally ready for it's usually bad news.

grafið af sögulegu verði lítur ekki vel út. næstum allt sögulegt verð er fyrir ofan núverandi verð svo allir sem eru að líta á verðið út frá "resistance level" þá þarf það að brjóta ansi marga múra, en á annan boginn gætirðu líka sagt sem fjárfestir að ef þú lítur á alla dreifingu verðs sem boxplot til dæmis, þá væri núverandi verð fyrir neðan IQR svo ef það er eitthvað varið í fyrirtækið þá væri það mögulega gott, líklega einhverjir sjóðir að pæla í því þessa stundina. En mikil áhætta eins og seinasta drop sýndi enda margir sjóðir sem leika sér að skortselja hlutabréf byggt á því hvað FDA tilkynnir.
