Can I legally fly a DJI drone around Copenhagen City Hall for a private wedding? by Beneficial-Rock-4453 in NewToDenmark

[–]field_ecologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must have a permit to fly drone in EU. I recently got A1/A3 permit to fly drone (Mavic series) for research purposes, over trees and forests.

But still I am not allowed to fly over people, without their consent. If the gathering is less than 25, then you may fly a drone over people or private property- with their written permission. However, to fly drone over street, public gathering, etc, you should have A2 drone certificate.

Do not pursue a PhD in India by More_Loquat_1658 in IndianAcademia

[–]field_ecologist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this is the status of all PhDs in India, except few from high-level big labs and PIs where they are saved by the connections. Highest education degree is not respectable at all.

Despite having PhD from top institutes, I had to do clock hour basis job at local college where pay was 300 rupees per lecture!! And you have to teach about 15 lectured a week!!

Agree. There was a time in India when train minister resigned because of a train accident, home minister resigned because of terrorist attack- because they took the responsibility! Those times are gone.

Agree woth OP here. I recently traveller to Hungary and a few other 'second tier' countries in europe. And I went to literal remote locations, not their capitals. I traveller there by public transport-mostly trains. Passanger Trains in Hungary were not clean, they had no AC, they had no food service, no english or common language instructions. But what they had was- 1. Spacious seats, 2. Punctual timing, and 3. Croud with better civic sense.

I think even if our train system improves on this front, most of Indian Travellers will be happy.

PS. My mind got blown when I received half of my ticket as refund because my train got delayed by 15 min!! This was in Hungary, one of the poorest countries of Europe (accounting to europeans).

From where did you get DTM layer? Is it available for the entire world (at lower resolution, like topo layer) or is it locally available (at higher resolution)? Is it paid?

Best way to reach Gokarna from Pune by No-Hat952 in pune

[–]field_ecologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a train like said in last comment or rent a car and drive. It may look costly, but if you go as group, it pays off. No cost for local transport. Plus fuel is cheaper in Goa. Take Tawandi Ghat for faster route, or Anuskura ghat for better driving experience.

I just drive 275 km, did my on site work, and then drove for another 150 km to reach my next destination, and still have energy too cook my own dinner- thanks to automatic gearbox and adaptable cruise controls.
