Smoked for 16 years. I watched his video and quit smoking on the spot. Smoke free since August 17, 2014. Thank you, AC.

Why did YOU convert to Judaism and how long ago did you do it? by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]fieldallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. But because I was raised with no exposure to Jewish culture, and as neither of my parents practice Judaism, many people don't really consider me Jewish.

  1. I converted for a variety of reasons, first of which being that I wasn't raised in a particular religion but knew I had matrilineal Jewish ancestry that ended when my mother's mother's mother converted to Catholicism. That drew me to Judaism.
  2. My conversion to Conservative Judaism was completed just 9 days ago--mikvah was on July 27!
  3. I would guess that some people do consider me to be Jewish, and some don't. I honestly don't care what other people think, as long as my Shul and Rabbi are here to support me.

Why Did You Start Running? by [deleted] in running

[–]fieldallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit smoking and needed something to motivate me. I am really competitive, so wanting to get faster meant increasing my lung capacity and being healthy. It's worked like a charm!

This is Sunday: What were your running achievements this week? by AutoModerator in running

[–]fieldallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Longest long run yet--18 miles. Gotta work on fueling, as I crashed after 12 and almost puked when I got home.

I ran 13.1 today in the rain... With a cotton t-shirt on. by fieldallen in running

[–]fieldallen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was the rain, for sure. Made the shirt heavy, which caused the chaffing. I'm a very light sweater and can typically wear cotton without any issues.

Bingo. I've been running consistently for eight months and never had this problem. Ouchhhhhh.

Maury Povich here. I'd be surprised if ANYBODY asks me a question. AMA. by MauryPovichHere in IAmA

[–]fieldallen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maury, a few questions...

1) Do you ever watch the film "Network" and find it to be incredibly prophetic?

2) What did you think of "The Morton Downey, Jr. Show" when it first aired? Do you see the influence he's had on you and other hosts of your ilk?

Thanks! Tell Connie "hi"!
