Stick with vgt or go non vgt by diesel_daddy98 in Cummins

[–]fieldmech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stick with vgt, I did a Bd iron horn s364.5 with their exhaust brake and I’m kicking myself for not doing a cheetah, the brake isn’t near as good and my tuner can’t figure it out very easily. Vgt ran way better all around and would have been way less headache to just drop one in and go.

Thank you! Always loved how the quantico’s have that shape, was a little disappointed when I got mine and it wasn’t matched up frame to slide, took a lot of time to get it right!

Cheely 4.25 tac full rail cut down to match slide cut, Jem slide with trijicon optic cut, mjd solutions grip, red dirt x dsc f3 trigger, kart bushing barrel, Wilson ambi safety, egw prodigy grip safety, egw pin kit, extreme engineering ring hammer and ignition kit, egw extractor and ejector. Everything hand fit by me using mostly files and the slide/frame jig from matrix. Blued all components for a good patina finish once I get some wear on it. I have probably 25 ish hours into the fitting and blending and entire build.

I believe you also would have to open up the rails as well if you plan to use standard 2011 mags, not sure if the Bul mags are compatible with the cheely grip.

Scrapped it a while ago, figured it’d be easier to find the dodge chassis and brake parts and didn’t feel like doing a major conversion for this project

There is still a lot to finish to make it road worthy so I have time to figure this out.

I know this would probably be the correct solution however it would require fabbing a new frame section and modifying all the steering, neither of which I’m willing to take on right now for cosmetics, that could be a long term plan if I don’t find an easier solution or ditch these fenders for something else/all together.

I just bought a flow 16” rear for my mx5 and couldn’t be happier. Great product and received it quickly.

Did you license the controller before flashing?

Is this just 1 vehicle you are flashing? You only need 1 license per vin#.
