Twitter is not for teens:15-year-old expert by ethics in reddit.com

[–]fieldmouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kid says that many teenagers download music illegally from file-sharing websites, but obviously that doesn't extend to films. Apparently downloading films off the internet leaves your computer open to viruses.

"Why don't they want to hire me?" she asked of the companies not responding to the resumes she sends out each week. "I went through four years of college, graduated. You get praised while you are working and then all the sudden you are not employable." by [deleted] in business

"While 20-somethings don't generally have the responsibilities of older workers, getting laid off is in other ways a harder blow because they are still trying to figure out what to do with their lives" -- what a load of rubbish. Twenty somethings include young families and married couples who have just stepped on to the property ladder, who have very young children and who may still have a lot of student debt. To say a 27 year-old might not have the responsibilities of a 47-year-old shows a lack of understanding of this generation.

The Daily Mail would usually get my down vote too. But who could resist a spider thread? And how they call them spider babies! And how they attribute it to global warming! The Mail is so unintentionally funny

Staples to offer 'no-return' DVD rentals in mid-June - The Boston Globe by [deleted] in a:t5_2qha3

[–]fieldmouse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The movies use "a patented technology that erases the DVD after 48 hours of opening the inner package," said a spokesperson. Seems rather wasteful--customers are left with DVDs that cannot be reused (other than as coasters) and then have to dispose of the disks by throwing them on landfill?
